For our second holiday tip of the French-speaking autumn holidays: head to the House of European History in Brussels.

Start with “Postcolonial?”, the museum’s current temporary exhibition exploring how Europe’s colonial past continues to shape the world today. Historical objects, contemporary artworks and personal stories bring together different perspectives on colonialism, independence and their lasting legacies.

Then continue with the permanent exhibition, which traces European history through objects, reconstructions and multimedia content. From the myth of Europa and the idea of a shared heritage to the transformations of the 19th century and Europe’s reconstruction after the Second World War, the visit offers a broader look at the continent’s history.

A holiday outing to explore the past, question the present and discover European history from different perspectives.

VITRINE returns to Brussels this November with “Sous Influence”, a new exhibition questioning the forces that shape who we are and who we become.

Through painting, photography, textile, sculpture and installation, the exhibition explores religious, technological, cultural, material and ecological influences through the work of Dóra Benyó, Sarah Caillard, Romane Iskaria, Fañch Le Bos, Lancelot Michel, Sofia Pashaei, Pedro Riofrío, Stefanie Salzmann, Denys Shantar and Barbora Žilinskaitė.

Between what is inherited, imposed and chosen, the exhibition reveals the tensions and mechanisms that shape our perception of the world and of ourselves.

BIP2026 opens today in Liège !

For its 14th edition, the Biennale de l’Image Possible returns to the former Chiroux Library with “Mirror, Mirror”, an exploration of contemporary images and the ways they shape how we see ourselves, others and the world around us.

Marking 200 years since the invention of photography, the programme brings together Belgian and international artists through photography, film, drawing and immersive visual, sound and digital installations.

From emerging photography with .tiff to reflections on disinformation in “Through the Looking Glass”, a large-scale portrait installation and “ANIMALS”, conceived for young audiences and families, BIP2026 approaches the image from multiple perspectives.

A biennale where images become mirrors — of identities, communities and a world in constant transformation.

“Priscilla Beccari & Roland Topor: une rencontre fortuite” opens tomorrow at Centre Daily-Bul & C° in La Louvière.

For her first museum solo show, Priscilla Beccari brings her work into dialogue with that of Roland Topor, an artist she discovered while still studying art.
Separated by generations, their practices meet through a shared taste for the grotesque, irreverence, black humour and shifting identities. Drawings, installations, archives and recent works create a series of echoes and frictions around the body, metamorphosis, sexuality, the domestic sphere and the absurd.

The exhibition also marks a new step in Beccari’s practice, with previously unseen ceramic works created during a residency at Keramis, including a series of thirty hand-drawn plates and a large installation conceived especially for the exhibition.
A dialogue between two singular universes, where the familiar is never quite what it seems.

“Identita – The Story of Czech Graphic Design” opens today at Design Museum Brussels.

Spanning more than a century of graphic creation, the exhibition explores how graphic design has helped shape Czech identity while reflecting the country’s political, social and cultural transformations.

Posters, books, magazines, logos, information systems and national symbols reveal how graphic design evolved alongside major moments in Czech and Czechoslovak history, from the creation of an independent state and two world wars to totalitarian regimes and the transformations that followed 1989.

Through original works and reproductions, “Identita” brings together some of the most significant examples of Czech graphic design and places them back within the cultural and political contexts that shaped them.

More than a visual history, the exhibition reveals how graphic design can become a reflection of a country, its society and its changing identity.

“Inuit – Impressions of the Canadian Far North” opens tomorrow at the Museum of Art & History in Brussels.

Bringing together nearly 250 works spanning around 70 years of artistic creation, the exhibition explores contemporary Inuit art from Nunavut and Nunavik through sculpture, drawing and, above all, printmaking.

Rather than approaching Inuit culture from an ethnographic perspective, the exhibition places the artists and their voices at its centre. Mythology, Arctic wildlife and the relationship with the land meet contemporary questions around social change, gender and climate change.

An immersive scenography, including the reconstruction of a large igloo, invites visitors to move through different aspects of life, creation and transformation in the Canadian Arctic.

A major exhibition revealing a vibrant, diverse and resolutely contemporary artistic scene.

At CAV&MA, music is meant to be discovered at every age.

Throughout 2026–2027, the Grand Manège offers a programme specially created for babies, children and families, with performances and workshops that introduce music through movement, storytelling, play and sensory experiences.

The season begins with “Zucht” on 18 October, a performance imagined for babies and young children. On 22 November, Trio SR9 presents “Métamorphoses”, bringing together marimbas, vibraphone, crystal glasses and bass blades in a musical journey from Rameau, Satie, Lili Boulanger and Ravel to Philip Glass and Hania Rani. Here, sound becomes matter, gesture turns into choreography, and the audience is even invited to join the musicians for a moment of body percussion.

“Les Yeux Soleil”, “OKAPI”, “Le Sacre du Printemps”, “Ylitys”, “Nour” and “Petite Sarabande” complete a season offering many different ways of listening, watching and experiencing music together.

Monthly music workshops also accompany families throughout the season, with sessions adapted to babies from 0 to 8 months, children from 8 months to 3 years and from 3 to 5 years.

A programme made to experience music together, from the very first years.

“Marc Chagall. Matières” opens tomorrow at CAP in Mons.

Bringing together more than 200 works and objects, the exhibition offers a renewed look at Chagall’s practice through matter, craftsmanship and technique.

Alongside his iconic paintings, visitors will discover prints, sculptures, ceramics, tapestries, glass works, ballet costumes, stage designs, preparatory studies, tools and archival material, revealing the many collaborations and processes that shaped his work.

The exhibition also places Chagall’s creations in dialogue with works from the City of Mons collections and contemporary ceramic and textile pieces selected by BeCraft.

ArtContest — 22nd edition opens today at Atoma Art Center, bringing together ten emerging artists selected from Belgian and Belgium-based practices.

The winners of this year’s edition have also been announced: Badi Rezzak receives the First Prize, Lennert Lefever the Second Prize and Noé Znidarsic the Third Prize. Sem Roels receives the Prix Cadr’art, while Louiz Castiella is awarded the Prix CAB.

Through painting, photography, video, sculpture, installation and performance, the exhibition brings together a new generation of practices exploring memory, identity, family, migration and contemporary ways of creating.

With Badi Rezzak, Eva Maria Bouillon, Felix De Clercq, Kayin Luys, Lennert Lefever, Louiz Castiella, Camille-Amandine Marino, Sem Roels, Sebastian Vielma Fleischhacker and Noé Znidarsic.

Ten artists and five distinctions to discover throughout the exhibition.
