We are proud to announce that 54Kolaktiv and High Needs Low finally unite under the rave banner! Sharing common goals and expectations since a long time,

and supporting each other generously we decided to join forces to provide an exciting event. From the aesthetical HNL touch to the strong 54' independency and sharp sound spectrum we are working on a unique and smart experience in a very special venue. Taking place at The Black Buddah, on the outskirts of Brussels we want to get back to the essential, by drawing the electronic experience out from the club dictatorship and give it back to the people. No reason to worry though, we are here to guide you. For your comfort a bus from Brussels’ center will provide access to the venue all night long. In keywords: Trust, integrity, aestheticism and some unique artists. Expect the unexpected.

Peter “baby” Ford is a true musical legend. He has been translating moods into electronic music since the late 1980’s. His music has served as paragons of reduction and helped laying down the foundations of minimal house and techno. Together with studio partner Richard Salt he has been contaminated by the UK acid bug. Ever since he has released countless albums including Fordtrax, Ooh The World Of Baby Ford, Bford 9, Headphoneasy Rider, Sacred Machine and Basking In The Breaklights. Ford continued his explorations into electronic music throughout the 1990’s and well into the next decade through the iFach, Pal-SL and Trelik Record labels. His subtle transition from acid house to techno minimalism seems like a logical step in his musical evolution. The unusually linear basslines he employs are swabbed in murky ambiance and swinging beats, restricting themselves to just a handful of drum machine patterns, and seem like they can go on forever. Over the last 10 years his deep underground walks in space have appeared on labels such as Perlon, Background and Autoreply. Not to mention the work with long-term collaborators such as Ian ‘Eon’ Loveday as Minimal Man, Mark Broom as Perbec and Thomas Melchior as Soul Capsule/Sunpeople. John Heckle is young, gifted and hailing from Liverpool. Phoney Beatlemania has bitten the dust as the old singer said, making room for an emerging rave culture hitting young John by the age of 13. He steadily took distance from the "too clean minimal sound", to the profit of industrial techno and early 90’s classic house tunes. John began developing his own sound in 2010, after attending a Jamal Moss show in Belgium, and started producing what would become one of his key releases and debut EP’s on the illustrious Chicago based Mathematics recordings, home of Hieroglyphic Being. Another EP and an album, as well as some acclaimed remixes followed trough different releases on outstanding labels such as Signals, Tabernacle, Creme Organisation, Burek and what more.. John's sound can be described as the perfect blend between house and techno; Chicago tinged house embedded in raw analog textures, contrasting lights with more italo-oriented, shiny synth lines. Fueling dancefloors with jacking basses and techno patterns. This young outsider will deliver a full live act, in which he will guide us trough a one hour long intense and emotional journey. Brice Dreessen is our guest for the warm up. Another youngster freak hailing from Liège. Founder of the Tape label Varech, from artwork to recording, we believe in this DIY hero, in his large record collection and his erudite sharp musical specter. He recently shone along Levon Vincent and Dave Monolith for Midi Deux' infamous french parties, you could have also spot him along John Roberts in Minimhouse a week later. Se supportant mutuellement depuis des années, partageant un esprit commun, une indépendance certaine, nous avons décidé d'allier le spectre sonore pointu de 54Kolaktiv à la dynamique esthétique et l'esprit de la House Party cher à High Needs Low. Un but commun, transcender un rassemblement sous la bannière de la musique électronique en une expérience unique et fédératrice, un voyage sidéral et intemporel puisant dans les tréfonds de la rave culture. Cet évènement se déroulera au Black Buddah dans les environs de Bruxelles. Cadre industriel et intimiste, nous avons voulu sortir de la dictature du club, favoriser l'expérience personnelle et mettre en avant un retour à l'essentiel. Le premier invité est une véritable légende. Agissant depuis le milieu des années 80, Peter 'Baby' Ford a participé activement au boum de l'acid house envahissant le Royaume Uni. Initiateur d'une multitude de projets collaboratifs avec entre autre Thomas Melchior, Zip ou Mark Broom, Baby Ford mêle intégrité et avant garde, sculptant, dans les années 90, les bases d'une house et techno plus minimaliste. Période se reflétant avec les sorties sur les labels I-fach, Pal SL et Trelik. 5 albums, une multitude de maxis élevés au rang d'ultimes classiques sur des labels tels que Perlon, Background et Auto Reply. Le second invité nous vient de Liverpool. Agé de 24 ans et touché très jeune par la culture rave, c'est après s'être rendu à un concert de Jamal Moss à Anvers qu'il décide de produire un EP qui deviendra en très peu de temps mythique et qui marquera surtout le début d'une carrière et d'une collaboration avec l'illustre label de Chicago, Mathematics recordings. John Heckle oscille constamment entre house et techno. Une house brute et mélancolique, à base de jacking claps et des lignes de synthé mélodieuses et nostalgiques imbriquées dans des patterns et des nappes s'apparentant plus à de la techno made in Detroit, industrielle et sombre. This need to get away from the mainstream, this peculiar desire to achieve a degree of maturity facing the abundance of parties, the wish to leave room to one's personality in order to transform a consumption of events into a sonorous and visual emotional search. From Brussels to Berlin we are very proud to host our first event abroad. We've been invited by one of the freshest club to perform and spread the quest for beats and emotions. Caring is part of achieving. Through this motto, High Needs Low always tried to get away from the trends by putting forward producers and Dj's who do care. And for this special night in SK Robinson we definitly surrounded ourselves with extra caring personalities. Our first guest has already performed among us in Brussels and showed us truth and sincerity through his emotional performance. Holger Zilske has moved the electronic world with his album Holz in 2009 on Playhouse. Half of the well known duo Smash TV, this eletronic wizard recently released an astonished experimental downtempo album alongside with August Landelius on FauxPas Musik under the Yoko Duo project. Let's get bewitched by his DJ set!

We've been following sir Venedikt Reyf since a long time and it's a true pleasure to have him among us this night. Evolving under the aliases of Suedmilch, Benedikt Frey or V, from his various podcasts witnessing a peculiar taste for internal journey, feelings and a certain dubby flavor, to his productions on strong identity labels such as Anton Zap's Ethereal Sounds or forthcoming Jus Ed's Underground Quality, this young and gifted magician has a various range of tricks in his DJ bag. Just check his releases on mysterious record label Aldebaran or more dancefloor oriented Pour Le Mérite and Niveous.

We met our last guest through our german/italian beloved brother collective WupWup. A true music lover. Späk (33/NK-Secrets) tends to show major respect and extra care about tunes he plays. He's part of those rare black gold digger, not being affraid of going under 118bpm, steadily building tension and drama, distilling an intimate story through housy vibes, freaky basslines and all time classics. Being around for a few years now, he developped this peculiar sense of rightness in his sets. No more words, let the music do the talk, you won't be disapointed.

HNL gang is composed of Soumaya DanceMachine (founder of High Needs Low), Pablo Handless Dj and Davon. They all are experienced musicians, Djs working on different projects and labels. Self-taught, eager for all different types of culture, supporters of the Do-it-yourself spirit, they complete and challenge each other in order to go beyond the expected and the consensual.

Soumaya DanceMachine, has brought a wind of fresh air in Belgium. Performing all over Europe from major bookings to fashion and artistics events, she's always on the edge combining feminity and keen sense of groove and energy. Known for her fancy footwork, from house to techno she handles a dancefloor like no one does raising a general wind of frenzyness until early dawn. Working on her own productions with DKA under the name of Bernard & Bianca, she was in charge of the artistic managment of Libertine Supersport club, providing avant garde electronic music every saturday in Brussels.

Pablo Handless DJ is a record collector, from detroit house to future bass and dub techno, he enjoys taking his listeners to unexpected darker places to catch them back on a groovy familiar vibe. He delivers colourfull dj sets enhancing the deep aspect of electronic music. Playing in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and France, he keeps on evolving in a various underground circuit witnessing a constant inner search on self improvement and developpement. He recently teamed up with producer Boubastar working on a record label project together.

Davon is a house freak. Part of Misericordz and Accroupi Records this expatriate french man knows where the groove's at. A peculiar taste for acid flavors, from fierce kicks and deep bass lines to classic house 'the way it should be'. He got spotted alongside with his mate Pathetik delivering bombastic B2Bs at early hours spreading wildness all around the dancefloor.

Nous sommes très excités de vous présenter pour cette dernière édition de la saison un line up particulièrement alléchant.

Notre premier invité international est un berlinois originaire d'Angleterre. Signé sur des labels prestigieux tels que Soma, Cityfox, Klink ou encore Trapez. Dj et producteur établi, nous sommes ravis d'accueillir MARK HENNING. Il fera trembler les murs de la gare avec un live freaky oscillant entre House et Techno, gentiment teinté de Funk avec une bonne dose de Deepness et surtout beaucoup d'énergie. Une identité forte sur ses productions, il est l'auteur de morceaux phares comme 'Cupcakes' sur Soma ou encore 'Collider' sur Cityfox. Ce genre de Maxi qui ne quitte jamais nos DJ bags.

Notre second invité est ONIRIK, bruxellois résident à Londres. Résident des feu soirées Foreplay Audio/Visuals qu'il a lancé en 2007 dans l'East London aux côtés des Wirspielen, évoluant dans les cercles underground de la musique électronique de Berlin à Milan, il a pu jouer aux côtés de Arnaud Le Texier, Jay Shepheard , Anthea, BLM, Kate Simko, Cesar Merveille, Cesare vs Disorder, Jin Choi...
Sa première sortie est un track co-produit avec Mark Chambers sur le label Snubb records, un début EP va sortir d'ici peu sur Serialism ainsi qu'une apparition sur la compilation London Cuts Vol.2. Il travaille aujourd'hui comme A/R pour Serialism et Mean Records aux côtés de Cesare vs Disorder. Tel l'enfant prodigue il revient armé jusqu'aux dents de nouveautés, exclus, classics et freaky beats pour nous délivrer un DJ set housy aux spectres larges techno, disco, jazzy, dubby, deep et entrainant.

WALRUS assurera le warm up. Issu de l'excellentissime collectif bruxellois 54KOLAKTIV, il nous plongera dans un voyage spatial deep et groovy dont lui seul à le secret. Explorateur de soundscape, Walrus 'cares' et pour nous, ça compte beaucoup.

AALTO sera le chef d'orchestre visuel de cette édition. Faisant parti du collectif ANTIVJ, son travail est axé sur l'utilisation de la lumière projetée et son influence sur notre perception. Il a collaboré entre autre avec Nosaj Thing au Lunchmeat Festival à Prague.

La résidence artistique sera assurée par le collectif d'art visuel parisien/bruxellois NEUE. Composé d'Esteban Gonzalez, Nicolas Choyé et Jean André. Photographes, graphistes, vidéastes, il se chargeront de revisiter la salle d'attente de la gare.

Our first international Guest is an english man now settled in Berlin. We are very proud to welcome in our beloved station MARK HENNING for a live performance. Mark’s sound sits somewhere between house and techno, with a healthy dose of funk, darkness and weirdness - all the required ingredients to have the crowds busting crazy moves on the dancefloor. He has established his artist career not just through his productions – on well- regarded labels such as Soma, Cityfox, Clink, Cynosure, Trapez, Freude am Tanzen and Einmaleins - but also through his worldwide performances. You may be familiar with tracks such as Cupcakes (Soma) or Collider (Cityfox), those kind of major releases that won't leave our DJ bags for a while.

Electronically schooled in Brussels, London based, ONIRIK has had a consuming passion for music from an early age. Since 2004 Onirik has been involved in the underground electronic music scene of Brussels, London, Milan and Berlin. Landing in London in 2007, he started promoting the "Foreplay Audio/Visuals" events at east London’s Corbet Place with Wirspielen. Through the Foreplay parties, his residency at the Extatic Sounds and several apparences around London and Europe Onirik shared the booth with Arnaud Le Texier, Jay Shepheard , Anthea, BLM, Kate Simko, Cesar Merveille, Cesare vs Disorder, Jin Choi amongst others. Onirik has recently been managing Serialism and Mean Records together with Cesare v Disorder. Still a newcomer on the production side he has, until now, released a track on Snubb Records with Mark Chambers (Leftroom) in 2010 and is preparing an EP on Serialism for 2011 as well as having a track featured on the forthcoming compilation London Cuts Vol.2, also on Serialism. His spectrum of influences is wide and crosses over several genres including electronica, dubstep, breakbeat, electro, house, techno, funk, jazz and disco. His current DJ set’s are focused around the house and tech‐house paradigms, both contemporary and old school, with a preference for deep, trippy and dubby grooves but never falling into the band wagon of boredom characterizing electronic trends.

WALRUS will be in charge of the warm up. Heading from Brussels, part of the excellent 54KOLAKTIV and mixing electronic music with enough thought, reason and soul to keep your head and feet floating above the thrill waves off his Antarctic biotope. Slowly melting sunbeams on an ice mountain make you find yourself in a warm bath of sounds, grooves and spaces. Walrus does care, and this means a lot to us.

Notre premier guest international est le jeune producteur qui a mis en avant la ville de Dresden dans le circuit electronique. Nous sommes très heureux d'accueillir JACOB KORN en live pour la première fois à Bruxelles. Ce talentueux producteur a définitivement marqué l'année 2010 par ses sorties sur Uncanny Valley, Dolly, Left Hand of Dial, Permanent Vacation.. ses remixes pour Manu le Tough, Mod Civil ont été acclamé par le public et sa touche personnelle ne passe jamais inaperçue. Cet artiste multidisciplinaire nous délivrera un live puisant dans les profondeurs d'une house brute, mélancholique et analogique.

Notre seconde invitée est originaire de Londres, si vous êtes familier avec la Fabric, le TBar ou encore le fameux disquaire Phonica, vous avez sûrement déjà du la croiser. Officiant sur les decks depuis plus de 14 ans, l'evoutante ANTHEA a développé un sens exacerbé du groove. Que ce soit en solo ou accompagnée de son complice Alex Celler, ses productions ont été accalamées et mises en avant par des labels prestigieux tels que Freak'n'Chic, Cecille, Supplement facts et Tunning Spork. Au cours de ses multiples dj sets aux 4 coins du monde elle a développé son propre style mélangeant sans vergogne House et Techno, distictivement deep, tribal, à grand coup de basses suintantes. La gare va trembler sous l'effet de son DJ set!

Le jeune ELIOTT LITROWSKI n'a pas froid aux yeux. Berlin, Cologne, Paris ou Bruxelles sont ses terrains de jeu, délivrant des Dj sets colorés, énergiques et enivrant tout en accusant d'une technique imparable. Résident des soirées One Night, ayant déjà officié au Rex, Batofar, ce petit prince charmeur est notre invité local chargé du décollage de la soirée.

CAMILLE LAVAUD est en perpétuel mouvement entre Bruxelles et Bordeaux. Intervenante en art plastique, de l'illustration au confections textiles. Son travail, chargé de références pointues reflétant son univers, évolue entre graphisme et edition. Elle est notre résidente dans la salle annexe, et se concentrera sur les formes géométriques et les couleurs primaires.

Basé à Bruxelles, THEM est un projet de 4 jeunes créateurs venant du graphisme, du design et de la photographie. Après avoir travaillé dans divers domaine tel que l'édition, le design d'objet ou encore l'image imprimée, Mathieu, Valérian, Théophile et Baptiste s'associent le temps de commades sous ce nom : Eux. High Needs Low est le point de départ de cette collaboration et se traduira par de l'image animée.

DJ'ing for 14 years, her keen sense of groove and sleeky funk prodution have seen fledging effort on key labels freak'n'Chic, Cecille, Supplement Fact and Tunning Spork. She has developped a distinctive style of her own, somewhere between house and techno, always deep, tribal and bassline fuelled. Let's get bewicthed by her dj set!

This gifted Paris based dj is considering europe as a giant playground, spreading groovy and energic vibes trough a skilled and precise technique. CAMILLE LAVAUD is a multi disciplinary artist hailing from Bordeaux, France. From illustration to textile creations, her remarkable work, full of heavy references, is oscillating between graphism and edition. We chose her to be the resident artist, in charge of dressing the adjoining room.

Based in Brussels, THEM is the gathering of 4 young gifted creators, coming from graphism, design and photograpy. Getting inspiration from their past work in edition, object and print design, Mathieu, Valérian, Theophile and Baptiste are taking care of the visuals and will deliver a brand new creation working on animated pictures to be screened.

7ème édition de High Needs Low et pas des moindres puisque les filles sont sous les feux de la rampe avec un line up composé uniquement de ladies. Créatives, téméraires et sensuelles, nous nous sommes rendu compte du caractère exclusivement masculin des line up précédents, du coup petit hommage pour clôturer cette année 2010.

Vera est notre première invitée internationale, résidente dans l'un des meilleurs clubs d'Europe, le Robert Johnson à Francfort, dj et productrice confirmée, la moitié du duo incontournable Mara Trax au côté de Mayaan Nidam, elle collectionne les sorties sur Oslo, Cargo Edition et Cyclical Tracks. Elle a joué dans les clubs les plus prestigieux du monde (Rex, Panorama Bar, Warehouse, Fabric, Space, Cocoon....) et délivrera ce 11 décembre un set spécial oscilliant entre deep techno et house moderne. Elle a notre confiance totale et c'est avec plaisir, curiosité et impatience que nous lui laissons le contrôle de la gare.

Nadipebi est notre seconde invitée. Signée sur Wupwup c'est une véritable freak du dancefloor. Cette dj originaire de Brunico (Italie) issue de la RedBull academy de Londres en 2002, elle est une habituée de la scène grecque, munichoise et brésilienne, elle nous délivrera un dj set housy dansant, deep et sensuel.

Elle entama sa carrière de DJ il y a 14 ans au sein de la scène lilloise, un passage chez Techno Import record shop, la co-organisation du Name festival, une résidence au Kiosk et aux soirées Legendz, elle nous délivre aujourd'hui une techno pointue au groove imparable et a récemment enflammé les pistes du Tresor à Berlin, du Make Up club et du Decadance à Gand aux côtés de producteurs tels qu'Agoria, Matt John, Sierra Sam, Marcus Vector, Barem, Sarah Goldfarb, Jay Haze..

DanceMachine, notre résidente se chargera de la clôture de l'event en nous délivrant, comme à son habitude, un dj set surprenant frais et dansant.

Pour cette édition, nous sommes enchantés de collaborer avec le select store Hunting and Collecting. Un espace leur sera confié lors de la soirée, leur laissant carte blanche afin qu'ils puissent apporter une dynamique esthétique et visuelle caractérisant l'esprit unique et exclusif de concept store qui nous est tout particulièrement cher. En retour Hunting and Collecting nous ont invité à ériger une vitrine (cette même vitrine ayant servi de set pour le shooting du flyer), ainsi qu'un pop up-store au sein même du magasin rue des Chartreux dans lequel vous pourrez retrouver des mises en bouches sonores et visuelles de la soirée. Pour cette première collaboration, Hunting and Collecting invite CONFETTI SYSTEM de Brooklyn.

Pour finir, Nous avons demandé à deux véritables freaks, allemands expatriés à Amsterdam, L.A.S.E.R. (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) et Ronnie Rakete de s'occuper de la scénographie et des projections. Dj sets, photographie, interventions visuelles, édition, créations textile, production musicale et video, il serait dur d'énumérer les divers projets de ces deux hyper-actifs. Que ce soit lors d'événements majeurs (intervention au Paradisio) ou lors de soirées underground (telles que celles du fameux label Plattergrond) leur griffe ne passe pas inaperçue. For the 7th edition High Needs Low decided to pay a hommage to the ladies, since in the past, our dj booth was exclusively composed by male djs and producers. A special highlight, a tribute as genre does not stand for a boundary for this last edition of 2010.

We are very proud to host Vera, our first international guest. Resident in one of the best club in Europe, the Robert Johnson in Frankfurt, she released on Oslo, Cargo edition and Cyclical Tracks and is the half of the great Mara Trax duo (alongside with Mayaan Nidam). She has played worldwide in the most prestigious clubs (Rex club, Panorama Bar, Warehouse, Fabric, space, Cocoon...) and will deliver a special dj set mixing deep techno and groovy modern avant garde house music. We have a complete trust on her and we are expecting a lot from her performance.

Our second international guest is Nadipebi. Hailing from Brunico, Italy, signed the beloved record label Wupwup, she has a great experience and knowledge on electronic music. Already in 2002 she participated at the Red Bull Music Academy, London. In the year 2005 she was invited to join the Red Bull Voyager Tour in Greece, playing around clubs in Athens and Mykonos. Nadipebi played also gigs in Munich (P1, Geheime Gesellschaft) as well as in the exotic Brasil. Not enough she experienced living in Berlin and shows now a very special mixture of deep and sexy tech-house sounds.

Jenny from Toys For Boys records is more than a local guest. She started her DJ carrier back in 1996 being pretty active in Northern France scene. Working in the famous Techno Import record shop, she co-organised the Name festival and had a residency in the Kiosk Club and in the Legendz events. Sharp and groovy, she will give us her special recipee for a dancefull spicy techno. She ercently shared the decks with Agoria, Matt John, Sierra_Sam, Marcus Vector, Barem, Sarah Goldfarb, Jay Haze in numerous clubs such as Tresor in Berlin, Make Up Club or Decadance in Ghent.

Brussels’ select store Hunting and Collecting has been invited to be a visual resident for High Needs Low.A room or an area inside High Needs Low will be used or transformed to bring an atmosphere that is unique to the store and the other way around, High Needs Low will be given a window at Hunting and Collecting (this where the flyer has been shot) to create a visual display + popup-shop that is unique to their esthetic during a given time before the party. For this first collaboration Hunting and Collecting presents CONFETTI SYSTEM from New York.

Finally, we invited Light Amplification by Stimulation Emission of Radiation (L.A.S.E.R.) and Ronnie Rakete to direct the scenography and visual intervention in the main room. 2 german hyperactive freaks based in Amsterdam, well known for djing, edition and aesthetic terrorism. DJ et producteur américain, John est un des talents deep-house les plus excitants du moment. Il crée un son unique, une musique et un univers sexy, qui le caractérisent et illustrent bien que la profondeur d'un rythme signifie beaucoup.

Originaire de l'Ohio, Il vit à présent à Berlin où il a trouvé dans les membres du prestigieux label Dial une nouvelle famille de coeur. Il a récemment sorti plusieurs morceaux unanimement salués par la critique internationale sur Laid records, la nouvelle émulation de la maison Dial.

Pour continuer la nuit nous vous invitons à découvrir MARC POPPCKE. Dj et producteur également basé à Berlin, il joue régulièrement dans nos clubs préférés de la capitale allemande. Avec son associé Daniel Solar, il crée en 2007 le projet Solar & Poppcke . Ensemble, ils sortent de nombreux morceaux et remixes sur les labels Diynamic, Plastic City ou Ostwind records pour n'en citer que quelques-uns.

Nos derniers invités DAVON & PATHETIK , jeunes passionnés et amoureux fous de musique techno, n'en sont pas à leur premiers pas sur la scène électronique belgo-française. Originaire de Bretagne, ils ont formés le label Misericordz en 2003 avec la création du groupe Pathetik Project. Arrivés en Belgique en 2007 dans l'intention de poursuivre sur cette lancée par la voie minimal house- techno, il sauront vous escorter chaleureusement jusqu'à l'aube.
