Weekend contact improvisation workshop - 12 / 13 September

Ezra LeBank ( )- 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰𝘀: 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 — a contact improvisation weekend workshop exploring lift, flight and dynamic weight-sharing through grounded body training and radically free partnering in vertical and spherical space — at in Brussels.

📅 September 12–13, 2026 — 10:00–13:00 daily
Info & registration — link in bio

Ezra LeBank is a Professor of Movement and Chair of the Department of Theatre Arts at California State University Long Beach. His practice weaves together meditation, Aikido and acrobatics into a deep curiosity for dance improvisation. Through his research company Bad Goat Dance, he has developed Dirt Work & Cloud Tectonics and been invited to teach at the International Contact Festival Freiburg, West Coast Contact Improv Jam, Seattle Festival for Dance Improvisation, Poland Contact Festival and Oberlin CI@50. He has created and performed contemporary circus and dance theatre across the world.

« We will begin with Dirt Work, physical training to expand, integrate, and ready our bodies in conversation with gravity and the earth. This prepares us for flight and dynamic capacity we explore in Cloud Tectonics, training that reframes our experiences of lift, loft, and drift. Detailed and buoyant exercises guide us toward a dancing experience full of abundant and radically free choice-making in vertical and spherical space for both ourselves and those we dance with. »
