A Serene Look upon the World is an exhibition that seeks to inflect existing tensions between the viewer’s gaze and the often veiled intention of the artist in the production of their mysterious and reluctant work, which emerges
from their interaction with nature. Curated by Renato Silva Brussels with work by Hiroshi Sugimoto and many more artists /

Visit to the archives of the Boekentoren at Ghent University, where part of the archive of Philippe Van Snick is now sustainably preserved and available for research.

In 2024, the Philippe Van Snick Estate donated a first section of the artist’s archive to the University Library of Ghent University. The material documents the early decades of Van Snick’s artistic practice (1968–1990), a formative period in which he developed his work in Belgium and internationally.

The transferred archive consists of 110 folders containing correspondence, notes, sketches, invoices, press clippings, texts and published visual material. Together, they offer valuable insight into the evolution of Van Snick’s oeuvre and into the network of artists, critics, galleries and museums that surrounded him.

Consulting the archive
The physical and digital archive of Philippe Van Snick is preserved and managed by the Ghent University Library (Boekentoren). An inventory is available through the library catalogue under reference BHSL.HS.III.183.
The paper archive can be consulted in the Special Collections Reading Room during opening hours, and documents can be requested via the online catalogue.

Collecting art is
* giving expression to the world you inhabit
* investing in your emotional and soulful life
* intellectually stimulating
* activating human connectivity
* nurturing and provoking perception
* supporting and promoting what you value
* celebrating specific moments, memories and experiences in your life

Belgium is internationally recognized as a country with many private art collections and daring, exciting art collections. Many are hidden and discrete.
Some art collections are legacies that pass from one generation to the next.

Frederika Declerck and Johan Rogiers are one of those discrete Belgian art collectors.

During Kunstroute Waregem March 28 & March 29 2026, there is a rare opportunity to see artworks belonging to this collection in the exhibition

TIME EXPOSED . a voyage of seeing

On view at CLC Waregem. Together with the family I curated an exhibition with 60 artworks created by 48 artists.

We arrive in the final chapter of the exhibition ENERGIA .brussels . A collab with .art

On Thursday evening February 26 I moderate a talk with artist Paloma Bosquê and collector Alain Servais in the context of the exhibition ENERGIA: artistic presence in the Belgian-Brazilian Landscape at TheMerode.

If art is an exchange of energy, what does it mean to create art or to collect it? How does art shape personal life, society, and our understanding of the world at large? This conversation brings together artist Paloma Bosquê and collector Alain Servais.

ENERGIA: Invitation to collect
ENERGIA: See, reflect, learn, collect and treasure

It was during ARCO Madrid 2016 that I first saw artworks by Paulo Monteiro. I still remember the booth of Mendes Wood DM. After holding first the Cobogó book in my hand, introduced me the real work.

Not so much later, I had the honor to work together with Paulo Monteiro .

For his new SKIRA Monograph, Germano Dushá wrote in the text The Movement of the Dot in the World:
‘His work touches the threshold of nothingness. This nothingness, though, is never empty, but always full of potential; always an open arena for new imaginations, accommodations, and, when the time comes, new dissolutions.’

Paulo Monteiro (b. 1961, São Paulo) is a Brazilian artist who investigates the dialogue between line, form, and space. Beginning with drawing, he extends the same sensibility into painting and sculpture exploring how gestures become physical and how negative space shapes matter.

Since beginning his practice in 1977, Monteiro has been a key figure in Brazilian Neo-Expressionism, including his involvement in Casa 7 and numerous exhibitions at MAC São Paulo, MAM-Rio, and the São Paulo Biennials of 1985 and 1994.

Born in 1971 in São Paulo, Brazil, Erika Verzutti works at the intersection of painting and sculpture, creating tactile, playful forms from materials like papier-mâché, bronze, plaster, concrete, wax, acrylic, and oil paint. Her sculptures often emerge from fruits, animals, eggs, vegetables, and human bodies, shaped through hands-on molding processes.

Her works engage with their surroundings, inviting viewers to explore scale, space, and the relationships between objects. Through their textures, forms, and gestures, they create a network of references and stories, encouraging reflection on humor, sensuality, and the energy embedded in everyday life.

On 20 October, Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel presents ‘Sculptures Last Night’, a solo presentation by Erika Verzutti at Hotel Balzac in Paris, curated by Julie Boukobza.
The sculptures fill the hotel room with intimacy and tension, creating a private world where bronze, concrete, and ceramic forms appear alive. They invite viewers to imagine the stories, secrets, and quiet moments hidden within the space.
The exhibition is on view daily from 10 am to 10 pm until 26 October.

“The sculptures have their own lives when they leave the studio.”

To get things done is a journey together. Since August, has been part of the team as an intern; curious, attentive, and eager to learn. From curatorial projects, to communication, research for private collections, to attend exhibitions and art events, we explore and train the eye, the brains and the gut together. This time of the year our eyes are present at several art fairs, auctions and exhibitions at galleries and institutions online and/or offline. On the way to London where a lot is happening this week.

On my way back home from 5 days in Basel for and the multitude of art fairs, exhibitions, dinners and conversations. It’s the time where my role as independent art advisor is activated: doing research, watching artworks in real, introducing, communicating, connecting, enabling art acquisitions/collecting and being present for the art collectors that look for a sparring art partner. A thought on my mind this week: people have the capacity to create, to build, to make, to do, to feel, to think, to connect, to express, to be curious, to wonder, to heal, to transmit energy, to contemplate, to share, to invent, to innovate, to imagine, to care, to come together, to be and so much more. Art is a way to connect with that universe. .charriere and many more

I am proud to announce a new exhibition I have been curating together with Chantal Pattyn.

Rooms of Resonance

is an exhibition celebrating life and beauty, while questioning how to connect with the self, the other and the world in these disruptive times.

The journey unfolds through four stages, from the sensuality of earthly matters to the exploration of metaphysical energies.

The exhibition presents a selection from the art collection by Frédéric de Goldschmidt, on view at Cloud Seven in Brussels.

Opens: Saturday April 15 . 2023 at 14h
Vernissage: 17h - 21h exhibition: 15.04 - 1.10.2023

Looking forward to welcome you :)

2023 . a new year

I like the start of a new year and the way we share each other generous wishes.
This refreshing energy comes with hope, dreams and ambitions.

As we live in challenging times, I hope we can go through 2023
with kindness, empathy, courage and care.

There is a saying that highlights the meaning of self-care
in favor of caring for others.
How do you treat your body, soul and mindset?
When do you experience contentment, peace and beauty?

For 2023, I dream about moments of connection
in which we envision a world driven by sustainable life, respect for universal human rights and
a peaceful co-existence of different expressions of life.

It is my ambition to connect people with
art, beauty, oneself and each other
with care, respect and trust
to embrace life and well-being.

Warm regards,
Benedicte
