It is absolutely essential to encourage and maintain intergenerational links, as it has been proven that this allows our elders to age better, and our children to grow up better! Furthermore, the increase in life expectancy and the remarkable progress we have made in the medical field have a considerable and extremely positive impact on the vitality and vitality of grandparents.
I'm convinced that a genuine bond of affection, trust and solidarity between the generations is being forged, a bond that benefits every member of the family and emphasises the pleasure of being together and support for each other, to the benefit of everyone.
Grandparents can provide organisational, moral or financial support. They bring emotional closeness and play an important role, through their presence and support, at a time when the number of separations is increasing, leading to a rise in single-parent families and the appearance of physical and verbal violence within families. They are also a stable family reference point, offering a model of balance and good behaviour for young people.
Did you know that in 2022 over 500,000 victims of intimate partner violence were recorded in 12 EU Member States?
