This piece was originally made for Robert Stolz Club Belgium in 2025, Aki created with 2 dancers with full orchestra in Antwerp Singel theater.

This summer, we collaborated 4 excellent Japanese musicians who graduated Royal Conservatory of Music Brussels Conservatoire royal , Aki rearranged the piece for Bridges in Motion.

This collaboration was an incredibly generous gift from Steven McRae. As a world-renowned artist, Steven brought so much to our dancers — his positive energy, creativity, musicality, experience, and artistic identity.

From the very beginning, he supported and inspired our dancers wholeheartedly. Be the Music became more than a choreography for BCB; it was a piece our dancers truly loved performing, bringing us closer together as one family on stage.

Our audiences in Japan embraced the work with such enthusiasm, and we are so happy they are already wishing to see more.

Thank you, Steven, for your generosity, your trust, and for sharing your artistry with Brussels City Ballet.

We can't wait for the next one! ✨

Beautiful choreography, powerful music, and a unique movement language brought to life by our dancers.

Absolute Stillness introduced a fresh and distinctive style of ballet to our audiences in Japan, and the response was truly incredible. We were so happy to bring this beautiful work to the stage once again as part of Bridges in Motion.

A huge thank you to Glen for trusting us with his creation and allowing us to perform it again.

We were honored to welcome Kimiho Hulbert as a special guest for Bridges in Motion in Japan.

Born in Belgium and trained at the Royal Ballet School Antwerp, Kimiho continues to support and inspire young dancers pursuing their studies in Japan, Belgium, and internationally.

Her unique artistic universe, sensitivity and deeply expressive movement shine through her creations, touching audiences in Japan and around the world.

It was a beautiful moment to share EMPATHY with our Japanese audience.

We were proud to bring Nachtblind to Japan as part of Bridges in Motion. 🇧🇪🇯🇵

Performed for an amazing Japanese audience, this powerful work carried the unique artistic voice of Belgian choreographer Zino Merckx all the way from Brussels to Tokyo.

Zino couldn’t be with us in Japan, but his spirit was with the dancers on stage every step of the way.

An unforgettable moment for Brussels City Ballet — and we already can’t wait for the next creation together!

What a beautiful moment in Japan. 🇯🇵

We opened Bridges in Motion with Classical Symphony — introducing Brussels City Ballet to the Japanese audience through a work that has become part of the artistic identity of our company.

Created by Aki Nishio in 2024 and premiered at Wolubilis in Brussels, Classical Symphony celebrates the beauty, elegance, and joy of classical ballet.

Aki created this piece for her dancers — to let their individuality shine, to celebrate their artistry, and above all, to share the pure joy of dancing.

Performing it in Japan, in front of such a warm and wonderful audience, with these incredible dancers, felt like a dream. ❤️

It was a lovely, beautiful, and emotional show on 3rd August at Sakura Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo JAPAN.

Thank you very much, .brussels Belgium and Luxembourg chamber of commerce for being with us. We hope this performance has become a small bridge connecting Japan and Belgium through dance and music.
