[FR] « J’ai un sentiment de haine lorsque je viens ici, parce que ce lieu représente le contraire de moi : l’institution patriarcale, un grand monument oppressif. Je pense que pour les personnes q***r c’est un acte très subversif de venir manifester ici. Avec nos corps q***r, nos corps racisés.»

Ansao Totolehibe est un activiste, musicien et chercheur trans qui explore les dynamiques de mutualisation spatiale, d’accès aux espaces habités et de réseaux de care collectif au sein des communautés transgenres, q***r antiracistes et issues de l’immigration à Bruxelles.

[NL] “Ik voel veel woede wanneer ik hier kom, omdat deze plek het tegenovergestelde van mezelf vertegenwoordigt: het patriarchale instituut, het grote onderdrukkende monument. Ik denk dat het voor q***r mensen een heel subversieve daad is om hier te demonstreren. Met onze q***r lichamen, onze lichamen van kleur.”

Ansao Totolehibe is een transactivist, muzikant en onderzoeker die de dynamiek onderzoekt van ruimtelijke uitwisseling, toegang tot bewoonde ruimtes en collectieve zorgnetwerken binnen transgender-, q***r-, antiracistische en immigrantengemeenschappen in Brussel.

[EN] “I have a feeling of hate when I go there, because it really represents the opposite of me: a patriarchal institution, a big oppressive monument. So I think for q***r people it is very subversive to go there to protest. With our q***r bodies, our racialised bodies.”

Ansao Totolehibe is a trans activist, musician and researcher who explores the dynamics of spatial mutualisation, access to inhabited spaces and collective care networks within transgender, q***r, anti-racist and immigrant communities in Brussels.

Laura Nsengiyumva [FR] 14’19’’


[FR] « Tu te trouves devant une statue. Les matériaux ont été extrait dans les mines du Haut Katanga par des esclaves. Cette statue célèbre la personne qui a pensé cet esclavagisme. Quand j’ai eu la vision de faire fondre cette statue, c’était dans l’idée d’en faire un espace urbain pour se rassembler et protester, s’il le faut. »

Laura Nsengiyumva est une artiviste, architecte et chercheuse bruxelloise. À travers sa pratique interdisciplinaire, Nsengiyumva explore des thèmes tels que l’expérience diasporique, les histoires cachées, les relations Nord-Sud et l’empathie.

[NL] “Je staat voor een standbeeld. De materialen werden door slaven uit de mijnen van Opper-Katanga gehaald. Dit standbeeld viert de persoon die deze slavernij bedacht heeft. Toen ik het inzicht kreeg om dit standbeeld te doen smelten, was dat met het idee om er een stedelijke ruimte van te maken waar mensen kunnen samen komen en protesteren wanneer nodig.”

Laura Nsengiyumva (zij/zij) is een in Brussel gevestigde kunstenaar, architect en onderzoeker. Via haar interdisciplinaire praktijk onderzoekt Nsengiyumva thema’s als diasporische ervaring, verborgen geschiedenissen, Noord-Zuidrelaties en empathie.

[EN] “You are standing in front of a statue. The materials were extracted from the mines of Upper Katanga by slaves. This statue celebrates the person who conceived of this slavery. When I got the vision to melt this statue, it was with the idea of turning it into an urban space where people can come together and protest when needed.”

[FR] « Place de la Constitution : un parking et en dessous un trou, un trop plein, un trop vide. En haut aussi du vide : du vide de sens. Au-dessus : le bâtiment Lemonnier, comme un boomerang, un phare. Vous le regardez, il vous regarde. Ce bâtiment accueille. »

Gaia est une travailleuse de l’art. Accompagne et facilite la réalisation des œuvres en art contemporain ainsi que leur exposition.

[NL] “Grondwetplein: een parking en daaronder een g*t, te vol, te leeg. En boven ook een leegte: een leegte van betekenis. Maar daar bovenop, het gebouw Lemonnier, als een boemerang, een baken. Je kijkt ernaar, het kijkt naar jou. Dit gebouw verwelkomt je.”

Gaia is cultuurwerker. Begeleidt en faciliteert de productie en tentoonstelling van hedendaagse kunstwerken.

[EN] “Place de la Constitution: a car park and underneath a hole, too full, too empty. There’s an emptiness above too: an emptiness of meaning. Above it: the Lemonnier building, like a boomerang, a lighthouse. You look at it, it looks at you. This building welcomes you.”

Gaia is an art worker who accompanies and facilitates the production and exhibition of contemporary artworks.

Rencontre à 9h45 devant l'ARBA- ESA , Rue du Midi144 Anna Raimondo invite His/her/their Stories à s’emparer des voix recueillies dans le cadre du projet Q(ee)R Codes – Nouvelles frontières BXL 1000 pour les mettre en résonance avec leurs recherches sur les archives trans belges. Le collectif propose une balade dans le centre-ville de Bruxelles en suivant des traces de non conformité de genre, passé et présentes.
His/her/their Stories est un projet porté par LoupKass et Nour Outojane depuis 2021. Il débute avec un espace d’archivage trans, collectif et vivant, à Bruxelles. En 2023, le projet évolue et devient une recherche artistique (FNRS-FRArt 2024) sur la réappropriation des histoires de personnes au genre non conforme en Belgique, à travers les archives institutionnelles, personnelles et la fiction. 🎧 EN_« One thing that I love about my neighbor-
hood is that as soon as something is happenings is in the street, everyone comes to the window and looks out. And there is a very nice neighboor, her name is Lourdes, she is an elderly lady in the corner of the street. If she knows you she will talk to you, so passing by her balcony is very nice. She is really like the « concierge » of the neighborhood. »

👤 Maya Dalinsky est une artiste de danse américaine qui a passé douze ans à travailler, créer et élever ses enfants à Bruxelles. Bien qu’elle ait dû déménager à l’étranger en 2021, son cœur reste à Cureghem.

🎧 NL_" Wat ik leuk vind aan mijn buurt is dat zodra er op straat iets gebeurt , iedereen aan het raam komt en om te kijken. En er is een hele aardige buurvrouw, Lourdes, ze is een oudere dame die woont op de hoek. Als ze je kent zal ze met je praten, dus aan haar balkon langskomen is erg leuk. Ze is echt de "concierge" van de buurt."

👤 Maya Dalinsky is een Amerikaanse performer die twaalf jaar lang in Brussel leefde en werkte. Ze verloor haar hart aan Kuregem, hoewel ze in 2021 naar het buitenland moest verhuizen.

🎧 FR_« Est-ce qu'on aurait oublié que les plantes médicinales, c'était aussi les femmes qui les utilisaient beaucoup ? C'est intéressant de remarquer comment la médecine a été récupérée par les hommes. Nous les femmes, hop, on a été mises de côté. C'est chouette de parler d'Érasme, mais il n'y a jamais de femmes... »

👤 Shahin Mohammad est militante handie intersectionnelle antiraciste. Elle travaille à la commune de Schaerbeek en tant que consultante pour l’inclusion et la diversité et s’investit dans les questions relatives à la justice sociale et intersectionnelle.

🎧 NL_" Zijn we vergeten dat geneeskrachtige planten ook veel door vrouwen werden aangewend? Het is interessant om te zien hoe de geneeskunde door mannen werd gerecupereerd, en hopla, wij vrouwen werden buitengesloten. Het is leuk om het
over Erasmus te hebben, maar over vrouwen geen woord... "

👤 Shahin Mohammad is een anti-racistische activiste vanuit een intersectioneel denkkader. Zij werkt voor de gemeente Schaarbeek als consulente voor inclusie en diversiteit en focust op kwesties van sociale en intersectionele rechtvaardigheid.

🏢 BÂTIMENT DES GOUJONS
🎧 FR_« L'immeuble des Goujons était considéré comme l'épicentre de tout ce qui n'allait pas. On se sert des Goujons pour réclamer une amélioration de la condition humaine. On en parlait toujours en mal, je voulais que l'on en parle en bien. Voilà ! »

👤 Marie-Therese Szewczyk habite dans le bâtiment des Goujons. Depuis 2001, elle est membre fondatrice du Comité du Bout du Monde, une association citoyenne d’habitant·e·s de l’immeuble œuvrant à l’amélioration du cadre de vie et de l’environnement.

🎧 NL_"Het Grondelsgebouw werd beschouwd als het epicentrum van alles wat mis gaat. Men gebruikt de Grondels-site om een verbetering van de menselijke conditie te eisen. Men spreekt er altijd neg*tief over, ik wou deze plek in een positief daglicht stellen. Voilà! "

👤 Marie-Thérèse Szewczyk woont in het Grondelsgebouw. Sinds 2001 is zij stichtend lid van het Comité du Bout du Monde, een burgervereniging van bewoners die zich inzet voor de verbetering van de levenskwaliteit en van het milieu.

🎧 FR_« J’ai l’impression que ce lieu est comme une grande respiration dans toute cette ville qui grouille. Quand il y a beaucoup beaucoup de buildings et de béton, un petit potager va avoir beaucoup beaucoup de rayonnement et d’allure. »

👤 Tina Verstraeten travaille à l’Institut de la Vie et est co-fondatrice du Pot’Albert, un écrin de verdure dans le quartier du Square Albert 1er à Cureghem. Maman de trois enfants et grand-mère de 6 petits-enfants, elle rêve de faire le tour du monde à vélo.

🎧 NL_"Voor mij is deze plek een bron van zuurstof voor de broeierige stad. Tussen de gebouwen en het beton straalt deze moestuin."

👤 Tina Verstraeten werkt bij het Institut de la vie en is medeoprichtster van Pot'Albert, een groene oase in de wijk aan de Albert I - Square in Kuregem. Zij is moeder van drie kinderen en grootmoeder van zes kleinkinderen en droomt ervan om de wereld rond te fietsen.

🏫 PLACE DE LA RÉSISTANCE
🎧 FR_«On sent que cette place est un melting pot et c'est quelque chose que j'apprécie énormément. En même temps, cette place me questionne beaucoup par rapport aux peurs qui sont générées par mon éducation blanc et bourgeoise, à mes apriori xénophobes que j’essaie de déconstruire. »

👤 Soa Gourvest est étudiant à l’Académie royale des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles. Parmi ses différents projets artistiques, il travaille sur un projet de comédie musicale avec son personnage de Drag, Wet Bambie.

🎧 NL_"Deze plek is een smeltkroes en daar hou ik van. Tegelijk stel ik me vragen bij mijn angsten, opgewekt door mij witte, burgerlijke en xenofobe opvoeding die ik wil afwerpen."

👤 Soa Gourvest is student aan de Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten in Brussel. Als kunstenaar werkt hij momenteel ondermeer aan een muzikale komedie als zijn drag queen alter ego Wet Bambie.
