Looking back at workshops that opened the storytelling festival, we're reminded of a beautiful moment of creativity and discovery. 🎨

Together with artist Alejandra Bedon, participants explored the magic of watercolor monotype. Beginning with a unique watercolor background, layers and textures revealed unexpected shapes and images. These spontaneous forms became the starting point for personal visual stories, capturing every trace along the way. 🖌️

EN/ We all have a story to tell. In this 4th edition of Brussels City of Stories, we explored the traces people leave across the city through stories, memories, and everyday routines that connect people and places. 🗺️

FR/ Nous avons tous une histoire à raconter. Dans cette 4e édition de Brussels City of Stories, nous avons exploré les traces que les habitants laissent dans la ville à travers des récits, des souvenirs et des habitudes du quotidien qui relient les personnes et les lieux. 🗺️

EN/ On May 23, we celebrated our traces through Brussels during our Storytelling Festival. Stories collected in different ways were transformed by authors Cécile Hupin and Tijl Nuyts into 10 beautiful stories, forming a soundwalk through the city. Participants and visitors discovered the art workshops’ results, joined the listening party, and shared their own journeys through the city during the open mic. A beautiful way to hear each other’s voices and walk in each other’s traces. 👣 🌆

NL/ Op 23 mei vierden we onze sporen door Brussel tijdens ons Storytelling Festival.
Uit verhalen die op verschillende manieren werden verzameld, creëerden auteurs Cécile Hupin en Tijl Nuyts 10 prachtige verhalen die samen een soundwalk door de stad vormen.
Deelnemers en publiek ontdekten de resultaten van de artistieke workshops, beluisterden een fragment van de soundwalk en deelden hun eigen trajecten door de stad tijdens de open mic.
Een mooie manier om elkaars stemmen te horen en in elkaars sporen te wandelen. 👣 🌆

FR/ Le 23 mai, nous avons célébré nos traces à travers Bruxelles lors de notre Festival d’Histoires. À partir des histoires collectées de différentes manières, les auteur·ices Cécile Hupin et Tijl Nuyts ont créé 10 récits magnifiques qui forment une balade sonore à travers la ville. Les participant·es et le public ont découvert les résultats des ateliers artistiques, écouté ensemble un extrait de la balade sonore et partagé leurs propres parcours dans la ville lors de l’open mic. Une belle manière d’entendre les voix des autres et de marcher dans leurs traces. 👣 🌆

NL/ Tijdens de Q***r Writing Group, een creatieve speeltuin waar deelnemers experimenteren en hun eigen (q***r) stem ontdekken via collectief schrijven, werden zij uitgenodigd om hun sporen op een wit pagina achter te laten. Samen kwamen deze sporen tot leven en vormden ze een gedeelde kaart van een ingebeelde nieuwe stad. 🌆 Kom hun gezamenlijke spoor ontdekken tijdens ons verhalenfestival!

EN/ During the Q***r Writing Group, a creative playground where participants experiment and discover their own (q***r) voice through collective writing, they were invited to leave their traces on a blank page. Together, these traces came alive, forming a shared map of an imagined new city. 🏙️ Discover their shared trace at our storytelling festival!

FR/ Lors du Q***r Writing Group, un espace créatif où les participant·e·s expérimentent et découvrent leur propre voix (q***r) à travers l’écriture collective, ils et elles ont été invité·e·s à laisser leurs traces sur une page blanche.
