👁️ On Thursday 8 May 2025, the founder of Gravity of Memory organised her first public workshop on decolonial ecology, entitled ‘Decolonial Ecology: Spotlight on News & Contemporary Issues’.
💢 The workshop focused on the dynamics of the Industrial Revolution, international nature conservation policies, and the absence of racialized people in environmental spaces.
💢 Alternating between theoretical input and group discussions, the aim was to address the systemic racism present in climate and ecological spheres, across all hierarchies, and to raise public awareness of these issues.
👁️ The evening, marked by an exchange of perspectives between racialized and non‑racialized participants, as well as a confrontation of Global North–Global South realities, was emotionally charged. Participants left deeply moved.
🍀 Advocating for years to expose and combat a reality she has experienced first‑hand, this overwhelmingly positive feedback represents, in her eyes, a symbolic victory.
