Life has led me to work with children of all ages, all conditions, all singularities. People say it's destiny, but I think it's the doors we open or close that bring us closer to what drives us. Our choices determine the adventures we live. 🌿
Sometimes I'm afraid, sometimes I doubt, because I wonder if I'm drawn to guiding children because, deep down, I would have liked so much to have been helped when I unfortunately experienced suffering and trauma as a child myself. As a way of healing my inner child.
I'm aware of this and act with caution, because you can't play with living beings.
My art therapy training has taught me so much about psychological concepts, ways of acting, posture as an art therapist, about myself and many more interesting things.
I fell into this particular field, because art has, in a way, saved me from my mental health issues. I am and will be myself in this process of healing, of development throughout my life and hope in parallel, to be able to accompany individuals towards their own light, towards their healing journey.
Because sometimes there are things we can't name, Because sometimes talking is too complicated, Because understanding isn't enough to feel better... art therapy allows you to take your words/pains in hand to ex-press them (= put them outside of yourself) and transform them... 🌈
I, of course, distinguish between art therapy, creative expression, occupational workshops and my own artistic and aesthetic projects.
I gladly lead all these and remain convinced that, whatever the approach used, CREATING is truly a powerful tool for well-being. 💖
