Another current resurfacing from Inner Currents. 💙

Meet Josie Ryan, .r.artstudio an Irish artist whose work grows from a deep connection with wildlife — shaped by her background in wildlife veterinary medicine and conservation across Africa.

Through bold close-ups, colour, contrast and scale, Josie brings us face to face with the animals she portrays. Not simply as wildlife to observe, but as individual beings — present, expressive, and capable of creating an emotional connection with us.

This is where her work meets Artuel: when observation becomes encounter. When we look long enough to recognise the presence of another living being — and perhaps remember something of our own connection to the natural world.

Some currents continue long after an exhibition has ended. 💙

During Inner Currents, DITI — Alix Ditisheim — brought more than her own work into Octopus Heart.

Her art begins in the streets of Brussels, where she collects torn posters, discarded papers and fragments of past events. By reassembling them into new compositions, she gives what was destined to disappear a second life — transforming traces of the city into something new.

But Alix brought that same spirit into the exhibition itself. She became a wonderful force within Inner Currents — curious about the stories of the other artists, generously presenting their work to visitors and helping create the sense that a collective exhibition can be more than works sharing the same walls: artists carrying and strengthening each other.

Her own work resonated deeply too, finding new homes with several visitors — a beautiful step in the journey of an emerging artist.

Perhaps this is also Artuel: transformation through attention. Giving new meaning to what already exists, while creating connections that allow something new to emerge.

What has passed does not have to disappear. It can be picked up, reassembled, shared — and given another life.

Meet the artist — Koen Luyckx 💙

For Koen Luyckx, painting began as a way of moving through grief.

His work explores the contradictions within human experience — light and darkness, creation and destruction, emotion and reason — allowing melancholy, loss and inner tension to take on another form.

Perhaps this is Artuel at its most essential: when something difficult to carry finds a language through art. When grief becomes colour, emotion becomes form, and what hurts can begin to transform.

Through Randonner la vie, Catherine Dehaes invites us to slow down, to notice, and to look again.

With an intuitive and poetic eye, she captures the details and suspended moments we might otherwise pass by — weaving images and words into spaces for emotion and inner reflection.

This is where her work meets Artuel: when seeing becomes feeling, and an ordinary moment becomes a doorway to something deeper within ourselves.
