OPEN AUDITION IN ANTWERP | MALE DANCERS
Troubleyn / Jan Fabre is looking for male contemporary dancers (ideally aged 20–25) for a new creation by Jan Fabre.
Audition Date: Monday, 23 November 2026
Time: 15:00–21:00
Location: TROUBLEYN/LABORATORIUM, Pastorijstraat 23, 2060 Antwerp, Belgium

We are looking for highly skilled and versatile male dancers with a strong foundation in contemporary dance techniques. Applicants should demonstrate strong physical endurance, artistic versatility and be physically and mentally prepared to engage with the distinctive artistic language of Jan Fabre’s work.

Applicants must be available to attend rehearsals in Antwerp from early December 2026 until July 2027.
Preference will be given to dancers based in Flanders or within commuting distance.

Tomorrow an ITALIAN PREMIÈRE in Milan | 'LITTLE BODY ON THE WALL (Oh corpo, corpo mio gentile, dimmi…)' by Jan Fabre, directed and performed by Roberto Trifirò, as part of Fabre Festival 2026 – I GUERRIERI DELLA BELLEZZA FESTEGGIANO I 50 ANNI DEL TEATRO OUT OFF.
Wednesday 14, Thursday 15 & Friday 16 October | 8.00 PM

In 'Little Body on the Wall', Jan Fabre explores the fascinating relationship between a performer and a photographer who becomes obsessed with capturing every detail of his body. Jan Fabre wrote this theatre text in 1996, based on interviews with the artists ORLAN, Rob Scholte and Wim Vandekeybus.

Directed and performed by Roberto Trifirò, this intimate monologue explores the fragile relationship between the body and the gaze of another. Who are we when seen through someone else's eyes? And what remains of us when the body is reduced to an image?

'Who Shall Speak My Thought?' is a haunting theatre text written by Jan Fabre in 1980. Performed by the Spanish actress Ivette Codina, this hypnotic solo plunges into the mind of a hypersensitive individual driven to the edge by the sounds, images, and sensations of the world around them.

Part confession, part fever dream, the performance unfolds as a torrent of thoughts, memories, and perceptions.

IN THE PRESS | The latest review from Milan following the Italian premiere of 'HARAKIRI (A Political and Incorrect Performance)' "The Jan Fabre Festival 2026 opens with a performance inspired by the French satirical magazine, through which the Belgian director-choreographer also pokes fun at himself and his own iconoclastic vocation…It is here that the performance reaches the height of self-parody – something so rare in the avant-garde, which is generally quite serious… the key to understanding the entire performance: a celebration of madness and doubt, of the “risk of making a mistake”, the driving force behind all creativity, whilst the certainty of being right generates only conflict and war…
Given the intensely demanding nature of the performance – setting aside any ironic or satirical intent – like every choreography by Fabre, it is extremely physically, individually, psychologically and ‘morally’ engaging (let us not succumb to the idea that miming erotic acts whilst naked on stage is a form of ‘easy’ student-style exhibitionism for the actor-dancer), it is only right to mention all 11 performers on stage: Annabelle Chambon, Anny Czupper, Cédric Charron, Conor Doherty, Giorgia Paolillo, Gustav Koenigs, Irene Urciuoli, Ivana Jozić, Matteo Franco, Pietro Quadrino and Stella Höttler.
