GRAFIXX Grafixx is a platform for the creation, presentation and dissemination of comics, illustration and graphic arts.

The annual festival takes place at De Studio, other events are organised with partners, among which a radio show and an imprint called Sporen.

Populated by energetic characters and bold shapes, Charlotte Dumortierโ€™s playful drawings bring a sense of humour and spontaneity to each project. Working across media, she often explores themes of food, nature, and the body. Her colourful illustrations have been commissioned by Apple,
The New Yorker, The New York Times, Suฬˆddeutsche Zeitung, and more. Dumortier likes to experiment with printmaking, risography, and has a love for collaborative projects.

The paintings, drawings, and sculptural works made by Chiara Lammens explore the porous boundary between the natural and imagined world. Her meticulously rendered scenes often depict landscapes in vivid colour combinations, evoking a parallel environment that feels both ancient
and strangely contemporary. She draws inspiration from comics, prehistoric imagery, and genre painting, weaving them into a personal and mythic visual language.

Active since the late 1990s, Erika Cotteleerโ€™s practice spans books, educational projects, and a growing body of autonomous drawing and painting. Her recent work is noted for raw, confrontational images in which women unapologetically claim space. Cotteleer is focused on powerful mixed-media portraits of overlooked heroines, always with a direct mark-making energy and an eye for the untold.

Gabri Molist is an artist exploring the boundaries of narrative through experimental drawing, performance, publication, and curation. In his work the traditional relationship between character, story, and layout is deliberately destabilised. He is a founding member of .space , an art space dedicated to contemporary comics and art. The vivid, satirical worlds that Brecht Vandenbroucke creates, blend pop-cultural imagery with sharp social critique. His work draws on Disney cartoons and surrealism, resulting in dense scenes packed with humour and bright colours. Vandenbroucke examines themes such as social inequality, digital culture, consumerism, and the absurdity of modern life. His illustrations have appeared in The New York Times, Wired, and Variety, and in his comic books ๐™’๐™๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™š ๐˜พ๐™ช๐™—๐™š (2013) and ๐™Ž๐™๐™–๐™™๐™ฎ (2021).

๐—–ร‰๐—Ÿ๐—œ๐—ก๐—˜ ๐—›๐—จ๐——๐—ฅร‰๐—”๐—จ๐—ซ (FR)
Visual artist and printmaker Cรฉline Hudrรฉaux is a printmaker, favouring the materiality of traditional print techniques as a counterweight to the digital image. Her imagery draws on primitive and folk art along with dreamlike motifs, often circling the tension between human and nature, and the thresholds between life and death. Hudrรฉaux has published two graphic novels, ๐™„๐™ฉโ€™๐™จ ๐™‰๐™ค๐™ฉ ๐™–๐™ฃ ๐™Š๐™˜๐™š๐™–๐™ฃ (2013) and ๐™ˆ๐™–๐™š๐™ก๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™ง๐™ค๐™ข (2019), and is currently working on her new book ๐™•๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™˜.

Ephameron explores the fragile, intimate moments that shape human life, capturing themes of memory, loss, care and transition. The acclaimed graphic novel translated as ๐™๐™จ ๐™๐™ฌ๐™ค ๐™๐™ค๐™œ๐™š๐™ฉ๐™๐™š๐™ง (2019) recounts her fatherโ€™s struggle with dementia. Other publications, such as ๐™ง๐™š/๐™˜๐™ค๐™ก๐™ก๐™š๐™˜๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ (2017) and ๐™‰๐™ค๐™ค๐™ž๐™ฉ ๐™ˆ๐™š๐™š๐™ง ๐˜ผ๐™ก๐™ก๐™š๐™š๐™ฃ (2021), examine motherhood and the passage of time. She has worked for numerous international clients, including The New York Times, Nike, Kartell, and The School of Life.

Van Der Vekenโ€™s illustrations have appeared in leading magazines, including two covers for The New Yorker.

๐ŸŽค De paden van beide HUMO-tekenaars kruisten al vaker, en tijdens deze lezing kom je alles te weten over hun bijzondere verwantschap.

๐—˜๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐— ๐—ฒ๐˜‚๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ป (ยฐ1946) groeide sinds de jaren โ€™70 uit tot een grootheid in de Belgische
stripwereld. Zijn aerodynamische beelden vol snelle autoโ€™s, mooie vrouwen en swingende
muziek bepaalden de stijl van het weekblad HUMO, maar sierden ook covers van The New
Yorker. Vandaag leeft hij zich vooral uit in vrij werk en oldtimers.

๐—Ÿ๐˜‚๐—ธ๐—ฎ๐˜€ ๐—ฉ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ฒ (ยฐ1992) bevolkt zijn tekeningen met groteske figuren. Hij laat hierin zijn
twijfels los over de menselijke natuur en tracht een antwoord te bieden op het doel van
ons bestaan. Daarvoor maakt hij gretig gebruik van een portie naรฏviteit, vettigheid,
melancholiek en jolijt.
