What does culture have to do with regionality in sake?

More than you might think.

Across Japan’s 3,000 km-long archipelago, climate, water, rice, local cuisine and centuries-old brewing traditions shape the flavour and identity of sake.

From light and elegant to rich, umami-driven and powerful: every region tells a different story in the glass.

Join sake expert Yuri Gotoh of Shinshu-sake as he takes you on a journey across Japan through personal stories, regional insights and a tasting of five exclusive sakes.

Taste Japan, region by region.

Curious to see what MRG Audiovisual is creating for this year’s WOLF FOOD MARKET ?

With almost double the number of standholders, even more sake to discover, and a completely new setup in Antwerp’s unique hidden street, this edition will be bigger than ever.

But the Belgium Sake Festival is not a trade fair. Every year, we carefully balance the music, the architecture of the building, and the atmosphere we want you to experience as a sake lover.

Every detail should contribute to one feeling: creating a bridge between Belgium and Japan.

Grab your tasting ticket via the link in our bio or directly on our website. We can’t wait to welcome you to the Belgium Sake Festival.

Our traditional, personalised masu

A masu is a traditional Japanese wooden cup, originally designed to measure exactly 180 ml or one gō, the standard serving size for sake.

Crafted from aromatic cedar and personalised especially for us, the masu carries a deeper cultural meaning. Its square shape is associated with prosperity and abundance, while the natural scent of the wood adds another dimension to the sake drinking experience.

More than a cup, it is a small piece of Japanese tradition.
