I just finished an order using Kitenge and Shweswhe fabric. I thoroughly enjoy working with fabric. It is a very forgiving medium and allows for so much to be done.

I wrote a blog some months ago "Fabric Becoming Art" that talks more the abundance of colour when we arrived in Tanzania May 2023. The colourful Kitenge fabric found a place in my creative mind and in my suitcase. (https://www.thariensart.com/news-blog/fabric-becoming-art)

My Kitenge stash is running low, and I therefore started to combine it with Shweshwe, an indigenous cotton fabric from South Africa.

This collection of cards is painted for Juliet Cutler , author of "Among the Maasai". Coming September, Juliet will launch a new book "Lessons in Hope", celebrating the power of education to transform lives, a follow-up to "Among the Maasai". This inspiring new release shares the stories of more than 20 Maasai women who are now leading change in their communities.
