Happy birthday to Eugène Delacroix (1798–1863).
A French painter and the undisputed leader of the Romantic movement, Delacroix’s work rejected the rigid rules of Neoclassicism in favor of raw emotion, movement, and bold color. His "visual vocabulary" was defined by expressive brushwork and a fascination with exotic themes and historical drama, profoundly influencing the later Impressionist and Symbolist movements. "Liberty Leading the People" is widely considered his most iconic and significant work.
On his birthday, we at BAF Shaheen College Dhaka art club celebrate his mastery of the "colorist" tradition, his revolutionary impact on modern art, and his ability to capture the turbulent spirit of the human soul.
