From the heart of Theatre SUST, we extend warm greetings to theatre artists, makers, audiences, and lovers across the globe on this special day — 27th March.
Theatre is far more than lights, stages, and applause. It is a powerful space for connection, reflection, and imagination. In a world growing more divided, controlling, and violent, we believe theatre must not become mere commercial entertainment or a dusty preserver of tradition. Instead, it should connect people, communities, and cultures — and courageously question where we are heading.
As Willem Dafoe beautifully reminds us this year:
“Great theatre challenges how we think and encourages us to imagine what we aspire to.”
May the stage remain alive, stories continue to be told, questions keep rising, and the culture of peace spread through the magic of theatre.
