【 🎏 Happy Kodomo no Hi! Celebration of Children’s Day at Embassy of Japan 】
On May 5th, Japan celebrates Children’s Day, a national holiday dedicated to the healthy growth and individuality of all children. The day is famous for Koinobori (carp streamers) flying in the wind—inspired by the legend of a brave carp that swam upstream to become a dragon—and indoor displays of Kabuto (samurai helmets) which symbolize strength, protection, and success.
Beyond the decorations, families celebrate with traditional rituals like Shobuyu (iris petal baths) to ward off bad luck and seasonal treats like Kashiwa-mochi (rice cakes wrapped in oak leaves). It’s a beautiful time for families to come together and wish for a bright, spirited future for their children.
This year , the Embassy of Japan is displaying a Kabuto and Koinobori in our Information Center! You are welcome to visit and enjoy these displays on working days until May 24. Embassy is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Sunday to Thursday), Except for lunch break (12:30 to 1:30PM). Please remember to bring a photo ID for entry.

The organizers of Nihon Jai (Mr. Kazi M Noor, Mr. Fasbeer Eskander and Mr. Ahnaf Tahmid Haider) had a warm evening celebrating the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan, invited by the honorable Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Mr. SAIDA Shinichi.

The team Nihon Jai wishes the best and prays for His Majesty's wellbeing and prosperous future.

At ポップカルチャーひろしま Pop Culture Hiroshima 2025, our very own Arika Ahsan (Akira Cozer) and Khushnud Mahzabin (Shionchawn.Cosplays) took the stage to represent Bangladesh for the first time, showcasing their passion and artistry before an international audience.

ポップカルチャーひろしま Pop Culture Hiroshima 2025 might be over, but the memories are still fresh.

For the first time in the history of Bangladesh, two talented cosplayers from our Bangladesh cosplay community, Arika Ahsan aka Akira Cozer and Khushnud Mahzabin aka Shionchawn.Cosplays, proudly represented our country on this international stage after being selected through the NIHON JAI Cosplay Competition.

It was a journey filled with passion, learning, and heartfelt connections with artists and cosplayers from around the world.
