From the river to the sea 🍉


I drew this two years ago, in 2023, for an article I wrote for my English class titled "Children Cries Under Rubble, Humanity Fumble." After extensively studying the cases of Palestinian children and compiling that article, I couldn't bring myself to post. Fast forward to today, the situation has not lifted at all. Instead, it got worse. It breaks my heart. Only can pray from afar.

Did this poster for BUP Film Festival.
Ngl I was very nervous to start drawing again. Tho this turned out to be super messy, I am happy that I could map all my ideas and finish it in a day.

We are told what to wear
We are told "boys will be boys"
We are told use of misogynistic language is normal
We are told manhood is dominating
We are told womanhood is submissive
We are told it is more shameful to be r***d than to be a ra**st

But what we are not told is that its not us at fault but society

Do not tell us ONLY we should be careful
Do not tell us to dress decently so boys don't have to learn self control
Do not tell us to live in fear
Do not tell us to control our emotions
Do not tell us about male supremacy
Do not tell us speaking up is against culture
Do not tell us men can put down women to be strong
Do not tell us it's our fault when it is society's ignorance

Tell yourself it is time to listen

Let us tell you to step up to create a cultural shift
Let us tell you silence is betrayal
Let us tell you your explicit jokes contributes to a culture of violence
Let us tell you to be more disgusted by r**e than by periods
Let us tell you human rights are not optional
Let us tell you standing up for women, being feminist doesn't make you any less of a "man"
Let us tell you 60% assaults are not reported because of fear of reprisal
Let us tell you 97% of ra**sts will never spend even a day in jail
Let us tell you approx 2/3 of assaults are done by intimate partners
Let us tell you the justice system against r**e is not enough

Now it is time for ACTION!
