, also known as Fort Aurangabad, is a famous Mughal fortress located in Old Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is one of the most beautiful and historic sites in the city and a major tourist attraction.

The construction of Lalbagh Fort began in 1678 AD by Prince Muhammad Azam, the third son of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, when he served as the Governor of Bengal.

After the prince left for Delhi, the fort’s work was continued by Shaista Khan, another Mughal governor. Unfortunately, the fort was never completed because of a tragic incident.

Shaista Khan’s daughter, Pari Bibi, died suddenly inside the fort. Believing it to be a bad omen, Shaista Khan stopped all construction. Her tomb inside the fort became the most sacred and emotional part of Fort.

The complex covers around 18 acres and includes several major structures:

- A Royal Hammam (Bathhouse) and the Charbagh-style gardens with fountains.
