IGCC India in Bangladesh (High Commission of India, Dhaka) in collaboration with the Bangladesh Bouddha Kristi Prachar Sangha, celebrated Holy Ashadi Purnima with a cultural programme at the Dharmarajika Buddhist Temple (Mahavihara), Dhaka, on 29 July 2026. The programme featured an Odissi dance Choreography titled ‘Namo Buddhaya’ by renowned Bangladeshi Odissi artist Ms. Proma Abonti and her troupe from Chittagong, whose graceful and expressive presentation portrayed the life and teachings of Lord Buddha, adding cultural richness and spiritual depth to the celebration and followed by the screening of the documentary on Lord Buddha ‘The Way of Buddha’.

Hon'ble High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh, Shri Dinesh Trivedi, graced the event and highlighted Lord Buddha's timeless teachings of peace, compassion, and harmony, while reaffirming the shared Buddhist heritage and enduring friendship between India and Bangladesh.

IGCC India in Bangladesh (High Commission of India, Dhaka) organized a musical evening on 16 July 2026 at HCI, Dhaka to commemorate the death anniversary of legendary Indian playback singer Mohammed Rafi. The event featured captivating performances by Indian artist Ms. Priyangbada Banerjee and Bangladeshi artist Md. Rashed Uddin.

On the occasion, High Commissioner of India Shri Dinesh Trivedi said that Rafi Sahab’s timeless classics unite mankind beyond religious differences and geographical borders.

The program was attended by Hon’ble Minister of State for Cultural Affairs, Mr. Ali Newaz Mahmood Khyom and his spouse. Music enthusiasts from across cultural, business and media circles of Dhaka took part in the program.

IGCC India in Bangladesh (High Commission of India, Dhaka) celebrates the extraordinary musical journey of legendary Indian flutist Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia with a musical programme on 9 July 2026. The program featured a soulful performance by renowned Bangladeshi artist Gazi Abdul Hakim followed by a short film on the Pandit Chaurasia.

Addressing the august gathering, High Commissioner Shri Dinesh Trivedi shared his personal experiences with Pandit Ji and highlighted the maestro’s immense popularity among Bangladesh’s musical fraternity, underscoring the deep cultural bond between India and Bangladesh.

To mark World Music Day 2026, IGCC, India in Bangladesh (High Commission of India, Dhaka) showcased Hindustani Classical music in the Music Festival organized by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on 21–22 June 2026. Renowned vocalist Shri Avijit Kundu performed Dhrupad and Khayal compositions on Raag Megh Malhar in the festival that displayed musical traditions from various countries.
