The journey of Shaheed Bir Uttam Lt. Going through many transformation, now, this institution is established as a full fledged intermediate college. The institution was named after Martyr Lt. Anwar Hossain (May 5, 1947 - March 29, 1971) who was a Bangladesh Army officer, fought in the Bangladesh Liberation war. He served his motherland until his last breathe. He was posthumously awarded Bir Uttam, the second highest gallantry award in Bangladesh. Anwar Girls' College has been a benchmark on the advancement of female education in the country. Resource:
