আমার চোখে এই শহরটা
বড্ড যে নগণ্য।।
নগর পিতারা চেয়ারে বন্দি
বন্ধ তার কপাট।

সড়কগুলোতে খোঁড়াখুঁড়ি শুধু
ডাস্টবিন রাস্তা জুড়ে।
ধুলোবালি ভরা আকাশ বাতাস
সিগনালে বাতি ঝুলে।।
নিয়মনীতির নেই কোন বাঁধা
ক্ষমতা বালাই শাট।

বসতি বাড়ছে বাড়ছে শহর
নাগরিক কোলাহল।
মানুষে মানুষে উপচে পড়ছে
ফুটপাত ও মহল।।
সুখ এখানে টাকার গোলাম
দুঃখে ভরা ললাট।
