On the 8th Anniversary of the Rohingya Genocide Remembrance Day, our people came together and recognized their own flag as a symbol of unity and identity. A flag is not just a piece of clothβ€”it carries our history, our dignity and our struggle for justice.

We, the Rohingya people must raise our own flag beside the Myanmar flag to show the world that our existence cannot be erased and our voice cannot be silenced. This symbolizes that we are an inseparable part of Myanmar, yet a people with our own unique identity, culture and rights.

Thank you, dear Bangladeshi brothers and sisters for standing in solidarity with the innocent Rohingya people in commemorating 25 August and for raising our flag alongside us. Your solidarity and tireless efforts for the rights of the Rohingya will forever be remembered and recorded in our history.

Let this flag stand as a reminder to the international community that the Rohingya will never give up the fight for justice, citizenship and the safe return to our ancestral homeland in Arakan.
