A Brief Biography of Munir Chowdhury :
Munir Chowdhury (27 November 1925 – 14 December 1971) was a renowned Bangladeshi educator, playwright, linguist, literary critic, and martyred intellectual. He was born in Manikganj, then a part of British India. He served as a professor in the Department of Bangla at the University of Dhaka. For his active participation in the Language Movement, he was imprisoned. During the final phase of the Bangladesh Liberation War, on 14 December 1971, he was abducted and brutally murdered by the Pakistani occupation forces and their collaborators, the Al-Badr militia. His body was never recovered.
