Earlier today in Beijing, the Barbados delegation, led by His Excellency Hallam Henry, Ambassador of Barbados to the People’s Republic of China, and Senator Jamal Slocombe, President of the Barbados Film & Television Association, met with officials of the National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) to explore opportunities for cooperation and partnership in the audiovisual sector.
The meeting was led by Ms. Qi Xiaochao, Director of the International Exchange Division, alongside Ms. Zhang Chenxi, Deputy Director of the International Exchange Division, and D**g Tingyan, Second-Level Counsellor in the Department of International Cooperation. Discussions focused on potential areas of collaboration between Barbados and China in film, television, broadcasting, content exchange, professional development, technology and infrastructure and broader audiovisual industry cooperation.
Also in attendance were Mr. Stefan Carrington-Henry, First Secretary at the Embassy of Barbados in Beijing, and Mr. Christian-Kendahl Rock, Director of the Barbados Film & Television Association.
The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts of the Chinese Embassy in Barbados and the Barbados Embassy in The People’s Republic of China to strengthen bilateral relations between Barbados and China while expanding opportunities for investment, knowledge exchange, and sustainable growth within the audiovisual sector.
