Pirouette Phase 2 international Youth Exchange was held in Berlin! 30 participants from 7 countries (BiH, Ireland, Germany, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia) had the opportunity to take part in this transformative artistic and educational journey. 🤝✨

📍 "Global Home" Workshop and Social Sculptures
A special part of the exchange was the "Global Home" social art workshop designed and facilitated by Masterpiece for Good. Working with vintage suitcases and objects found on the streets of Berlin, the youth explored themes of identity and migration. The result? Six striking social sculptures that were premiered in the unique setting of the CABUWAZI circus tent at Tempelhofer Feld – a location that symbolizes the history of arrivals and departures.

📍 Performance Night (May 21)
The central event was a night dedicated to original works created through months of preparation and the methodology of the "Performing Change" training manual:

• Cell (Ćelija) – Agencija lokalne demokratije Mostar(BiH): A performance based on personal experiences that bravely speaks out about domestic violence and femicide, breaking the social silence.
• In Circle We Gather – Magnet Association (Serbia): A re-examination of the concept of parties as spaces for empowerment and community connection.
• Veil – Anibar (Kosovo): An audio-visual exploration of the link between environmental pollution, poverty, and inequality.
• Third Generation – Optimisti (Montenegro): Exploring imposed patriarchal roles and breaking free from inherited patterns through movement.
• Sentenced To Resistance – NGO NEST Berlin (Germany): Confronting privilege and the concept of resistance (qahr) through music and live painting.
• Children of Lir – Redial partnership (Ireland): A tragic Irish myth of transformation as a path toward redemption and inner peace.

These details confirm that each group, through the "Global Art Fusion" workshops, deeply explored local contexts and community regeneration through the perspective of global citizenship. ✊🔥

The project is implemented by a consortium of six partners from the Western Balkans and the EU, and is co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme.

From research in Mostar to the stage in Berlin – our youth have demonstrated that art knows no borders when it comes to the fight for a more just society. 🎭🌍
Through the project "Pirouette Phase 2 – CreARTive Community", a group of young people from Mostar transformed months of work and research on topics of local and global significance into a powerful artistic message. What began as an exchange of ideas among strangers evolved into a unified voice raising awareness about the universal issue of domestic violence and femicide.
📍 Mostar – Where it all began: Through months of collaborative work, discussions on current social issues, and the alignment of visions and artistic expression within the Global Art Fusion workshops, the youth of Mostar created the performance "Cell" (Ćelija).
📍 "Karel Čapek" Small Stage, Mostar Puppet Theatre: The premiere of the final performance "Cell" on the local stage was emotional and powerful, transforming local issues into a universal artistic message.
📍 Youth Exchange in Berlin – The highlight of the journey! The voice of Mostar’s youth resonated in the heart of Berlin, where the performance "Cell" proved that art dissolves borders and unites us in the fight against violence.
Through the project "PIROUETTE 2 – CreARTive Community", our young people did not only learn about art—they became messengers of change from Mostar to Berlin.

Day 2 of the Pirouette II Youth Exchange in Berlin! 🇩🇪

As the week goes on, the connections between participants are growing stronger. What began with simple introductions is quickly turning into genuine friendships and artistic collaboration between young artists from across Europe.

Today, we returned to our creative base for the week, located right next to the Spree. The unique atmosphere of this vibrant cultural space continues to inspire participants as they work, exchange ideas, and discover more of Berlin’s creative energy.

Throughout the day, the groups focused on rehearsing and refining their final performances. With their pieces already developed, participants are now fine-tuning every detail and preparing for Thursday evening, when each group will present its work to the rest of the participants and invited guests.

Another inspiring day filled with creativity, collaboration, and new discoveries. We are looking forward to Thursday evening and to seeing all of the performances come to life on stage!
