Rasim Babayev (Rasim Hənifə oğlu Babayev) (31 December 1927, Baku – 24 April 2007, Baku) was a painter, People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR (1988). He studied at Painting School named after Azim Azimzade in 1945-1949. Later he studied at Surikov Moscow Art Institute in 1949-1956. He was accused of formalism and was unable to obtain his diploma.
His works are held in museums, galleries, and private collections in many countries. In the National Art Museum of Azerbaijan, the Museum of Modern Art in Baku, the Galerie de France, the Tretyakov Gallery, the Museum of Oriental Art in Moscow, the Dodge Soviet Nonconformist Art Collection in Zimmerli Art Museum, and et cetera ...
