JUNE FILMS

Some final sessions of our current fave films, plus action, adventure, and acoustics, all coming to you this month!

Our three biggest films of the year all came to us in May, and we have more sessions in June so that no-one misses out!
THE SHEEP DETECTIVES
The sheep are on the case! When their shepherd is murdered, his flock, well-versed in murder-mysteries, turn into ovine investigators.
(PG, Mild themes, threat, violence and coarse language, 109 mins)
THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2
20 years after the original, the cast is back – same characters, but a completely different magazine industry. Can Andy save Miranda from going down with the Runway Magazine ship?
(M, Coarse language, 119 mins)
MICHAEL
Michael Jackson's story comes to the big screen, with the hit songs and dance moves we all know so well.
(PG, Mild themes, family violence and coarse language, 127 mins)

STAR WARS: THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU
In the latest release from the Extended Star Wars Universe, the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin, assisted by his foundling Grogu, are tasked with finding a mysterious warlord. They embark on a galactic swashbuckling adventure, trying to do the right thing in a cut-throat business despite Mando's insistence that he's only there to get the bounty.
(M, Violence, 132 mins)

POWER BALLAD
Paul Rudd's Rick is a washed-up wedding singer who never hit it big. When he meets former boyband star Danny (Nick Jonas), it's a boozy night of bonding over music and a late-night jam session. Some time later Danny is all over the radio with a new hit song… but it's Rick's song! Rick must decide what is most important: fame or family, in this comedy of bromance and betrayal.
(M, Coarse language, 98 mins)

MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE
Your favourite '80s action-figure becomes a big-screen action-adventure when, after 15 years in hiding, Adam finally recovers the Sword of Power, returns to his home planet, and tries to save his people from the machinations of Skeletor. Only when he embraces his true destiny as He-Man – the most powerful man in the universe – can he prevail.
(M, Violence, 141 mins)

STA RETRO – SOME LIKE IT HOT
STA Retro continues their 2026 season with an all-time favourite from the heydays of Hollywood. Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon try to escape from the mafia by hiding in the last place they'd look: an all-girl band in Florida. All goes to plan, until the lovely Marilyn Monroe sparks romantic complications. Sunday 14 June at 4.00pm.
(PG, Medium level violence, adult themes, 117 mins)
STA Retro films are presented by Southern Tablelands Arts (STA).

FILMS THIS WEEK - Thu 11/06 to Sun 14/06

Our fave films finish up this week, with our final sessions of fame, fashion and farmyards!

Not just for kids or farmers, THE SHEEP DETECTIVES proves that even if you have four feet, you can still be a forensic fact-finder! When their shepherd is murdered, a flock of sheep use their knowledge of mysteries and whodunnits to solve the case.
(PG, Mild themes, threat, violence and coarse language, 109 mins)

With the magazine industry in disarray, some may even say on its last legs, we return with the original Runway staff for THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2. Can Miranda Priestly survive to retirement with the help of former-Emily, Andy Sachs?
(M, Coarse language, 119 mins)

Fame may be the goal for some, but getting there requires talent. The music biopic MICHAEL shows us Michael Jackson stepping away from his power-hungry father, to become a blockbuster success with endless hit songs.
(PG, Mild themes, family violence and coarse language, 127 mins)

Also this week, our retro film presented by STA Screen, SOME LIKE IT HOT. With no money and nowhere to hide, two down on their luck jazz musicians masquerade as members of an all-girl band, leading to a number of romantic complications. Starring Hollywood legends Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon, and Marilyn Monroe.
(PG, Medium level violence, adult themes, 117 mins)

FILMS THIS WEEK - Thu 04/06 to Sun 07/06

Our biggest films of the year aren't going anywhere yet - more sessions of your new favourites this week!

Twenty years on, we return to the world of the fashion and fashionistas of Runway magazine with the original cast for THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2. Miranda remains the big boss you love to hate, Andy is still the optimistic "real" journalist, but in an industry that is now imploding, can either approach prevail?
(M, Coarse language, 119 mins)

The extremely popular farmyard film THE SHEEP DETECTIVES continues to bring in the big crowds. Can you solve the mystery of the shepherd's untimely death before the ovine investigators?
(PG, Mild Themes, threat, violence and coarse language, 109 mins)

We're also bringing back a recent fave, the music biopic MICHAEL. The Michael Jackson story may have ended early, but it brought us so many chart-topping hits that you'll be singing all the way home.
(PG, Mild themes, family violence and coarse language, 127 mins)
