JUNE FILMS
Some final sessions of our current fave films, plus action, adventure, and acoustics, all coming to you this month!
Our three biggest films of the year all came to us in May, and we have more sessions in June so that no-one misses out!
THE SHEEP DETECTIVES
The sheep are on the case! When their shepherd is murdered, his flock, well-versed in murder-mysteries, turn into ovine investigators.
(PG, Mild themes, threat, violence and coarse language, 109 mins)
THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2
20 years after the original, the cast is back – same characters, but a completely different magazine industry. Can Andy save Miranda from going down with the Runway Magazine ship?
(M, Coarse language, 119 mins)
MICHAEL
Michael Jackson's story comes to the big screen, with the hit songs and dance moves we all know so well.
(PG, Mild themes, family violence and coarse language, 127 mins)
STAR WARS: THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU
In the latest release from the Extended Star Wars Universe, the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin, assisted by his foundling Grogu, are tasked with finding a mysterious warlord. They embark on a galactic swashbuckling adventure, trying to do the right thing in a cut-throat business despite Mando's insistence that he's only there to get the bounty.
(M, Violence, 132 mins)
POWER BALLAD
Paul Rudd's Rick is a washed-up wedding singer who never hit it big. When he meets former boyband star Danny (Nick Jonas), it's a boozy night of bonding over music and a late-night jam session. Some time later Danny is all over the radio with a new hit song… but it's Rick's song! Rick must decide what is most important: fame or family, in this comedy of bromance and betrayal.
(M, Coarse language, 98 mins)
MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE
Your favourite '80s action-figure becomes a big-screen action-adventure when, after 15 years in hiding, Adam finally recovers the Sword of Power, returns to his home planet, and tries to save his people from the machinations of Skeletor. Only when he embraces his true destiny as He-Man – the most powerful man in the universe – can he prevail.
(M, Violence, 141 mins)
STA RETRO – SOME LIKE IT HOT
STA Retro continues their 2026 season with an all-time favourite from the heydays of Hollywood. Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon try to escape from the mafia by hiding in the last place they'd look: an all-girl band in Florida. All goes to plan, until the lovely Marilyn Monroe sparks romantic complications. Sunday 14 June at 4.00pm.
(PG, Medium level violence, adult themes, 117 mins)
STA Retro films are presented by Southern Tablelands Arts (STA).
