Due to unforseen circumstances, Area 1 has been overrun with rabbit-like anomalies. We will be closed this Friday and Saturday, with limited spots still available on Sunday as we clean up. Recently, Dr Waylan very excitedly piloted and command a ship through a far reaching solar system to do battle with aliens at Earthrise One in Melbourne.

A high tech game inspired by Star Trek and Bridge Command.

"Each member of your 'crew' gets a different role. We had five players, and had a science officer, engineer, pilot, gunner and captain. Each with a different console and job that contributed to the overall success of our mission.
The viewport was three huge screen televisions that combined together to give us our viewing port out into space. As the pilot steered us around, we could explore the solar system. And if required, the gunner was able to shoot things down in real time. The engineer worked to keep our batteries charged and our torpedoes loaded, and the science officer worked to scan our surroundings and interpret alien signals."

This game was fantastic fun! And if Dr Waylan watched more Star Trek, I'm sure he would have enjoyed it even more.

If we were to offer one critique, this ambitious game is still in its early release stages and we did have a sizable bug (that was fixed up promptly by the Earthrise One team).

If you're like Dr Waylan, and you're want to experience something ambitious, new and refreshing in the Escape Room/Immersive Games genre. Then he highly recommends playing this game right now. However, if you want a very polished experience with all the bugs and kinks worked out, he does recommend waiting 3-6 months before playing.

Recently, Dr Waylan had the pleasure of indulging his nerdy side and played Tablescape Escape Rooms in Melbourne.

It was a fascinating blend of Table Top Role Play (like Dungeons and Dragons) and traditional Escape Room puzzles.

"It was a pleasant change of pace to a traditional Escape Room. And our team were able to slow down and really enjoy the story side of things. The puzzles were fairly simple to our team who was very experienced in both escape rooms, and role play. But I expect a team that was not experienced in both could easily get tripped up in their puzzle solving.
As a new, emerging style of game, there is lots of potential for exploration into the genre and I'm very excited that Tablescape are forging a fresh path in the industry."

Tablescape are a very new small business, having only started in September. So they are still finding their feet in the online marketing world, and can be a bit tricky to find.
But message them on their socials, and they will happily and excitedly host a game for you at $25 per person.
