RCS | Transforming Agriculture

Sometimes art finds exactly where it was always meant to be.

A couple of weeks ago, I said goodbye to George as he went under the hammer at the Phoebe Dawson Foundation Gala in Sydney.

I'm so incredibly grateful to share that George sold for $8,750, with every dollar supporting the incredible work of the Phoebe Dawson Foundation and its charity partners — Angel Flight Australia, Bear Cottage and Olive & Kin.

Knowing that this painting will help make a difference is something I'll treasure forever.

George has found a new home with a wonderful rural family in New South Wales, where he'll quite literally be living on a farm. I couldn't imagine a more fitting place for a kookaburra.

I've even received an invitation to visit him one day, which I am sure I will take up.

To James, Tina, the Phoebe Dawson Foundation, everyone who attended the gala, and the family who welcomed George into their home—thank you.

This painting has travelled from my little studio in Cooee Bay, to London, to Sydney, and now to a beautiful farm in rural NSW where his next chapter begins.

What a wonderful weekend at the St Lawrence Wetlands Weekend!

I had the pleasure of teaching three watercolour workshops and spending time with so many lovely people. From beginners who told me they didn’t have an artistic bone in their body, yet walked away with a piece they were genuinely proud of. That is what makes my heart sing.

I actually think I love teaching these workshops even more than creating my own artwork. The connection, the laughs, and those few hours where nothing else matters as we paint together and chat about the most random of things. It is pure bliss, bringing together people from all walks of life.

Art is like music… no matter who you are or where you come from, it has a way of bringing people together.

A heartfelt thank you to St Lawrence Wetlands Festival organisers and volunteers who made such a fantastic community event possible.

I came home with a very full heart. 💙

… and next year is going to be the year I finally get to meet Costa Georgiadis Official🌿

Well, this was lovely to wake up to this morning...

I've just received confirmation that all three of my watercolour workshops at the St Lawrence Wetlands Weekend have officially 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐎𝐔𝐓.

To everyone who has booked a place, thank you. I can't wait to spend the weekend painting with you.

It's always a little nerve-wracking putting three workshops out into the world, so seeing them fill so quickly means more than you know.

A huge thank you also to the St Lawrence Wetlands Festival team for inviting me to be part of such a wonderful event.

Now I'd better get practising what I'm preaching and make sure I'm organised before July!
