The Emu Park Art Gallery's official opening of current exhibition was Sat. March 21st 5-7pm. Everyone is welcome, and admission is free. This exhibition runs until Sunday, May 3rd. 2026. I have two diverse paintings on display. Lizardrama and The Pantheon, Rome.
The building was commissioned by Marcus Agrippa around 27 BC and rebuilt by Emperor Hadrian around 126 AD. The dome is an iconic structural accomplishment. This is a Technical Drawing. It is a precise and standardised technique that shows exactly how the temple is built and functions. My technical drawing was created using traditional manual measurement and application tools.
Framed, Medium: Indian Ink, Lizardrama - The majority of the lizards in this Lizardrama are Australian. There may be a couple that blended with the crowd when negotiating Australian Customs. Not to mention any names however, Cam O’Flage, the Nigerian chameleon, may give you a clue. Lizards are generally inoffensive, timid, and, in some cases, surprisingly docile creatures that can coexist peacefully with humans. Framed, Medium: Gouache, Barbara Price-Rees

The entire Great Barrier Reef area is an important feeding area for turtles, and many of them nest locally along the Capricorn Coast. The gallery is open Wed to Sunday, 10am-4pm, free admission.

Now the Figtree 'Who Painted That? exhibition is over, I can reveal "I Painted That & That!" No.21 'Going Home,' the hatchling turtle heading for the sea. Also No.24 'Ready!' The Kelpie with the Frisbee. It was a very colourful, fun exhibition showcasing the talented artists located in this area. I am very happy that both paintings found their home at the opening. Enjoy!!

I have two paintings on display – ‘Black Cockatoo’ (Indian Ink), portraying the bird using ink, was a very exacting and satisfying experience for me. ‘A Moment in Time’ is an acrylic painting that was started in ‘plein-air’ and completed in my studio. I have two paintings currently in the Emu Park Art Gallery Member's exhibition. This exhibition concludes on Sunday, 30th November. One is a 'Yeppoon Poster' using gouache in a vintage style, and the other is an acrylic painting of a Yeppoon beach at sunrise titled, "A Breath of Fresh Air".
The look and feel of these paintings reflect the beautiful and relaxing environment of this nook in Queensland.

Recently, a fantastic group of individuals gathered to enhance their skills in acrylic painting at the Tanby Garden Centre, located on Kinka Beach Road. The beautiful venue provided the perfect setting for painting a flowerpot. The group welcomed participants of all painting abilities, and everyone was eager to try their hand at it. With familiar music playing, a coffee van nearby, trickling water features, and a sunny day, the atmosphere was perfect for an enjoyable morning of painting. Barbara Price-Rees - presenter
