We’re so pleased to be welcoming Sydney-based artist Alexandra Mills to Tyger for our next Tyger Project show, Shade.

Bringing together works across gouache, oil, paper and textiles, Shade looks at the play of shadow in the places around us – through gardens, windows, trees, cliffs, rain and water.

For Alexandra, shade is both visual and physical: the pattern cast by light, and the relief we feel when we step out of the heat.

“It’s about noticing things you might have missed,” Alexandra says.

This is going to be a beautiful, thoughtful show, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

Shade runs 20–29 June at Tyger Gallery.

Meet the Artist: Saturday 27 June, 12–3pm.

We're still buzzing from Brisbane and the fab time we had at the Affordable Art Fair – so many beautiful conversations, so many moments of discovery and connection with art lovers, and so, so much fun.

What a beautiful weekend it’s been in the gallery with Kathleen Wigan’s show, A Wish. 💫

From Friday evening onwards, we’ve had so many lovely conversations with people spending time with these calm, layered abstract works. Thank you to everyone who came through the gallery over the weekend – we loved sharing the show with you.

Pictured here are the good-enough-to-eat (but please don’t actually eat them) Sage and Pistachio – both acrylic on board and 80 × 80 cm.

If you haven’t had a chance to see A Wish yet, we’re open again tomorrow (Monday) from 10–2.

The show continues until 31 May at Tyger.

We're almost ready to go with A Wish – the beautiful new show by Sydney artist Kathleen Wigan.

Join us tomorrow, Friday, 6-8pm for our relaxed preview evening. You'll get to meet Kathleen, enjoy a drink, and be among the first to see the show.

A Wish includes Midlands I and Midlands II – both acrylic on canvas and 63 × 93 cm. They're works that draw on the colours and openness of the Tasmanian landscape, built through broad brushstrokes, layered neutrals and soft shifting forms.

We love them, and think you will too.

See you tomorrow evening!

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of watching a beautiful show come together on the walls.

Today we started installing A Wish by Sydney artist Kathleen Wigan, and the gallery is already feeling completely transformed.

This is a gorgeous collection of large-scale abstract works filled with texture, soft colour and layered mark-making.

We can’t wait to share the show with you.

We’re so excited to be welcoming Sydney-based artist Kathleen Wigan to Tyger for our next Tyger Project show, A Wish, which opens with a preview evening this Friday 22 May, 6–8pm.

Kathleen creates beautifully layered works built through soft colour, texture and intuitive mark-making.

If her work looks familiar, you might remember Kathleen from our recent show Presence – her work was quickly snapped up and sparked lots of lovely conversations in the gallery.

'A Wish' is a really beautiful body of work, and we can’t wait to share it with you.
