This week we celebrated Dad with a little help from nature!

Our little explorers got hands on with gardening the edible dirt sensory play experience, discovering native Australian flowers and leaves while digging, scooping and creating.

For our craft, we used natural materials to create special leafy Dad portraits. Pasting leaves, sticks and bark to make a one of a kind picture for someone very special.

A beautiful week of messy play, creativity, connection and celebrating our wonderful dads. A big Happy Father’s Day to all the dads for this Sunday 💚

From crunching, cutting pasting and sticking, it’s all a part of creating their own little masterpieces. Messy play gives children the freedom to explore, experiment and express themselves.

🦖 DINOSAURS HAVE ARRIVED AT YBPG 🦕

Our little scientists stepped back in time this week to explore Dinosaurs as part of our Science Term!

We got creative with salt dough footprints, pressing tracks and discovering how different footprints can leave different patterns.

We also brought dinosaurs to life with our very own DIY dinosaur paper cup projectors.

There was plenty of hands on learning, experimenting, dinosaur sized fun and lots of imagination 💚

Playgroup is so much more than a morning of activities and play 💛

It’s a place where little ones can learn to share, take turns, explore, create and build confidence all through the magic of play.

It’s just as important for parents and carers. It’s a chance to connect, share experiences, support one another and know that you’re not doing this parenting journey alone 🤍

Those little moments of messy play, big smiles, new friendships and discoveries all help build the foundations for a lifetime of learning!

Sensory play is so much more than getting messy🌿👐

When children squish, scoop, pour, splash, smell, feel and explore, they are using their senses to make sense of the world around them.

Sensory experiences support developing fine motor skills, coordination, language, problem solving and creativity, while also giving children opportunities to explore at their own pace.

There’s no right or wrong way to play, just curiosity, discovery and plenty of learning along the way 💛

At playgroup, we love creating open-ended sensory experiences where little hands can get busy and little minds can explore 🍁

Science Term has us diving beneath the waves this week 🌊🐚

Little learners rolled and shaped their own playdough sea snails and explored blue moon dough filled with sea creatures.

Even the wet winter weather became part of the adventure! Instead of staying indoors, we pulled on our boots and headed outside for mud pies in the sandpit and some puddle fishing, proving that a little rain is just another opportunity for play, exploration and making joyful memories together.

At Yanchep Beach Playgroup, we love creating experiences that spark curiosity, encourage creativity and help children learn through play, no matter the weather 💙🌧️🐠

At Yanchep Beach Playgroup, we are lucky to have access to a wonderful nature playground, where children can climb, balance, dig, explore and connect with the outdoors through open ended play. Natural environments encourage children to take safe risks, build confidence, develop gross motor skills and let their imaginations run free.

Inside, we carefully prepare a range of invitations to play thoughtfully arranged activities designed to capture children's interest and encourage them to explore at their own pace. Whether it's creating, building, investigating, sorting or pretending, these open ended experiences invite children to make their own discoveries, solve problems, develop fine motor skills and learn through play with no right or wrong way to participate.

Together our indoor invitations and outdoor nature playground create a rich environment where children can follow their interests, build friendships, develop new skills and simply enjoy the magic of childhood alongside our other families.

We love watching each session unfold as every child finds their own way to play, learn and belong. 💚🍃
