Your gentle reminder:

You’re allowed to rest. You’re allowed to start over. You’re allowed to be a work in progress.

No matter what today looked like, tomorrow is a gift. It’s waiting for you, full of potential and new possibilities.

Life can be overwhelming. Some days, you might feel like you’re swimming against the tide with unfinished to-do lists, mistakes you can’t stop replaying in your head, or moments where you just didn’t live up to your own expectations.

But here’s the truth: you’re human and you're not tied to yesterday.

Let yourself rest. Pause for a moment and breathe deeply. The beauty of life is that it doesn’t demand perfection. It asks only that we try our best — and then try again.

So lean into it. Begin again.

Slowing down has been my gift to myself—a quiet pause to re-dream and reshape what my next chapter looks like. After two months offline, I’ve realised that clarity doesn’t always come from pushing harder.

Sometimes, it finds you when you let go, when you surrender and simply allow.

In this time, I've embraced peeling back the layers of my habits and decision-making processes, which has led me to discover hidden truths about myself.

I’ve come to understand that my constant rushing muted the quiet whispers of my intuition—whispers that were always there, waiting patiently for me to listen.

As the noise faded, so did the pressure to always know, to always act.

Instead, a peaceful understanding settled in, showing me that not every path needs to be relentlessly pursued. Sometimes, the most profound growth occurs in moments of stillness, when you allow the unknown to unfold at its own pace.

This journey isn't just about reimagining my future; it's about gently reconnecting with who I am at my core. With each surrendered moment, I find myself not just dreaming, but becoming.

As a little girl, dancing transported me to magical places—places where I could be brave, inspired, joyful, and stretch myself both literally and metaphorically. It's only in the second half of my career that I've realised how deeply impactful all those years in the studio and on the stage were. It feels like there isn't a single part of me that wasn't influenced in some way.

Dance gave me the ability to rise above struggles.
It gave me community and friendship.
The ability to deeply understand dedication and discipline.
To set goals and achieve them.
Resilience and its marriage to vulnerability.
How to deal with and overcome setbacks.
Empathy for the human condition.
To live outside the box.

Even in my teens, after a decade of intensive training in dance and theatre, and after starting my employment in the biz at the age of 14, people still dismissed it as a hobby or "not a real career."

But I never saw it that way, and I'm so blessed to say neither did my parents. It has become a deep passion of mine to work with children in creative arts. Like a fully completed circle, I now get to impart creativity, play, and learning through the lens of a 30-year career and share those experiences with the children and adults of the future.

What a privilege.

Thanks to @ for having me at the Hive Festival this weekend, and to my gorgeous artist team, Keila Terrencio and Zoe Morgan - you are magical creative beings and I love sharing this space with you.

Let's keep dancing in the sky. I'll meet you there!

Prosperity in 2025: I see prosperity as more than only financial abundance; it's a holistic state of well-being that touches every facet of my life, my family’s life, my community, my world.

It involves nurturing my health, relationships, and mindset - hand in hand - with finding fulfilment and gratitude in all that I do. My commitment to cultivating an enriched and prosperous life remains in focus, but behind the scenes the way I approach this has been under major construction.

More coming soon.

Whether its through art making, play, or meaningful connections with others I am excited to keep nurturing this creative lens of life.

🕊 Empowerment 🩵 Creativity 🌏 Prosperity

Empowerment in 2025: This year, empowerment means taking charge of my decisions, living by my values, building and respecting my boundaries. It is about owning my voice and my path with confidence, hope and authenticity.

As I step into the new year, I hold closely to three guiding pillars that bring me direction and solace. These experiences have consistently helped me navigate life's myriad ups and downs, but for the first time, I am intentionally curating them together. They will serve as anchors, providing strength, grace, and light as I journey forward.

We almost missed it—our two-year anniversary snuck up on us like a quiet whisper.

No calendar reminders, no alarms, just another busy day until my mum’s message popped up. I didn’t even open it until 9 p.m.

By then, the day had slipped by, but what struck me wasn’t the missed opportunity to celebrate—it was the flood of memories that came rushing in.

Two years ago, we stood hand in hand, surrounded by our closest family and friends, committing to forever in the most intimate and beautiful way.

But the real magic?

It wasn’t in the vows. It was in every single moment before that day—the adventures, the laughter, the challenges—and every moment since.

As we near a decade together, I realise I didn’t just marry the man of my dreams;

I married someone whose love, friendship, and strength grow deeper every day.

Our boys are flourishing, more beautifully with each moment, and our family feels more connected than ever.

Our closest friends—those soulmates who’ve walked beside us—continue to share and light our way.

This anniversary, though we nearly missed it, is a reminder that every day is precious.

The love we share doesn’t need a special occasion to shine—it’s woven into the fabric of our everyday life.

While special milestones are meaningful, it’s the everyday moments of love, growth, and connection that truly matter.

Celebrating the journey, not just the occasions, reminds us that gratitude for each day is what makes life rich and beautiful.

At my core, family is everything. They’re my rock, my foundation, the driving force behind everything I do. My life is deeply intertwined with those I hold dearest — my husband, my kids, my parents, my siblings, my vass mob, and my friends.

These relationships shape me, ground me, and give meaning to this wild and beautiful journey.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 My tribe is my world.

I'm blessed beyond measure to walk through life with a kind-hearted, strong man by my side. As a Mum, I cherish my two boys — an inquisitive toddler who sees the world with fresh eyes and a soulful teenager who reminds me of the depth and beauty of growing up. Each of them, in their own way, fills my life with wonder, love, and purpose. 💖

As a wife, mum, stepmom, sister, daughter, and auntie, I’m constantly reminded of the richness that family brings. I find joy in simple, everyday moments — cooking together, laughing at the dinner table and reading bedtime stories, giggles and cuddles.

I also love epic nature adventures, lavish holidays, world travel and shared experiences that become the stories we tell for years to come. ✨

We pursue a life filled with moments that matter, memories that last, and connections that run deep.

And it’s not only about my family. My mission extends beyond our home.

I desire to inspire people to be brave enough to seek joy, freedom, and fulfillment. I believe in living with intention and purpose, rooted in faith and fueled by a deep desire to live, lead, and thrive in ways that truly reflect who we are.

We only have one shot at this life, and I’m determined to make the most of it — for myself, for my family, and for a better future. 🌟

Once in a blue moon, you meet someone who truly impacts your life. Momentarily. Intimately. Permanently. Forever. This extraordinary woman is a beautiful mother, a loving wife, a divine friend, a fierce arts leader, a creative producer, a former professional dancer, and the artistic director and co-founder of DirtyFeet.

DirtyFeet, now in its 17th year, has carved out a significant space in Sydney's contemporary dance sector—which is no small feat. With rigour, determination, and passion, Anthea Doropoulos has been at the helm, creating, fostering, and producing the new voices of contemporary dance for nearly two decades.

This weekend, we celebrate another incredible milestone: 10 years of the Out of the Studio program. Yet here's the thing—it is so much more than a program. It is a launchpad, an incubator, a dream facilitator for emerging choreographers and dance artists in NSW.

Under Anthea's compassionate and visionary leadership, DirtyFeet's commitment to inclusivity and diversity has always played a crucial role. Out of the Studio has championed 100’s of voices from various backgrounds, ensuring that the dance community is a vibrant tapestry of different perspectives and experiences.

This heartfelt dedication has not only enriched the artistic output but has also woven a richer cultural fabric within Australian dance.

Now, she would be the first to say that this show isn't about her, and in many ways, it's not. But truthfully, it kind of is.
I couldn't be prouder to lead, create, and play beside her circa 2009.

Come see this triple bill. unveiling the next generation of bold new voices in contemporary dance.

In my many roles as an artist, there is one in particular that I never would have anticipated: becoming a professional writer.

From crafting successful arts grants and developing cultural policies to advocating for the arts sector at a governmental level, and my favourite—creative writing.

Recently, I had the honour of writing an article for Dance Australia. Established in 1980, this publication has been an integral part of our country's dance scene for over 40 years. As a teenager, I eagerly awaited each issue in the mail.

Now, I get to write about a milestone for my favourite dance company, DirtyFeet , celebrating 10 years of their pioneering program, 'Out of the Studio'.

The cosmic twist is that I was one of the first emerging choreographers to access this incredible program. It provided me with an early opportunity in my choreographic pursuits to test, experiment, and make my very first integrated dance work.

This experience deeply impacted my career, opening new doors to the world of contemporary dance and inclusive arts practice. Since then, I've:

~ Received a Winston Churchill Fellowship
~ Earned numerous commissions from leading arts organisations
~ Mentored thousands of artists
~ Launched NSW's first artist-led and disability-led inclusive performance company

As the beautiful circle of life continues, I now work arm in arm with my dearest colleague, Doropoulos, in my role as Director of Artistic Operations and Inclusive Arts Practices at DirtyFeet.

Let’s never underestimate what we are capable of, when first we dream.

The article is now online! Just pop "dance" in the comments below, and I’ll send you the link! 📩

My healing journey began before I even realised it. One evening by the ocean, with waves washing over my feet and the sun setting, I felt a shift. The sea, my sanctuary, let me hear my heart over the noise in my head. That night, the whispers of my heart were LOUD.

Years of burnout had left me broken, but I knew healing was possible if I just listened.

It started with a bold move: closing my performing arts company. Though it had fulfilled me greatly, it had begun to take more than I could give.

Inner truth ~

I turned inward, meditating, slowing down and connecting with my true self, guiding me towards choices that aligned with my inner and often quieter truth.

I transformed my relationships, distancing from negativity and embracing supportive friends. Setting boundaries brought positive energy and healing.

Nature also brought peace. Bush walks and yoga reconnected me to a divine force whispering healing and wholeness.

Discovering my power ~

Listening to my heart, I realised my true power lay in aligning with my most authentic self. Each choice replaced hardship with lightness, reclaiming my power.

One evening, back at the ocean, I felt peace. Years of exhaustion led to clarity and strength. My heart, once drained, now pulsed with vibrant energy.

A promise to myself ~

I knew then that an honest, aligned life was intrinsically healing. By listening to my heart, I had catalysed my own healing.

I promised to always listen, choose from the heart, and trust the healing power within, guiding me towards continuous healing, wholeness, and new beginnings.

Letting go makes way for letting in. Even when it hurts, even when its hard. Spaciousness for healing and change and newness is always true gift. 🩵🕊
