The forest is teaching me something I couldn’t learn in the studio.

Lately, I’ve been feeling gratitude…
but not in the way I’ve known it before.

Deeper.
Quieter.
More grounded.

Time spent wandering the forests of Tasmania.
The cool air, the soft earth beneath my feet, hidden mushrooms tucked into the undergrowth and standing under ancient trees.

And sharing it all with the person who walks beside me through this life…
that feels like something truly sacred.

I’ve found myself appreciating it all in a new way,
where I live, what I have, and who I get to share it with.

The simple act of being able to walk these paths;
both through the wilderness… and through life itself.
It really is all about perspective.
And that’s something being gently, but clearly, shown to me right now.

This pause… this creative shift…
it feels less like being stuck,
and more like a reset.

A returning.

To the ground beneath me.
To something greater.
To myself.

I have faith in where this is leading,
and I’m quietly curious to see where I land.

“Healing doesn’t always look like creating”

I’ll be honest, there’s still a part of me that worries.
What if I don’t return to the easel for longer than I expected?

That thought feels heavy.

But instead of forcing it, I’ve been stepping outside
into the forests, into the cool, breathing wilderness of Tasmania 🍃

Mushroom hunting.
Exploring hidden paths.
Standing beside waterfalls.

Letting the forest breathe around me for a while.

There’s something deeply grounding about it,
like a quiet reset I didn’t know I needed.

I may not be painting in the studio right now…
but I am still filling the well.

And maybe that matters just as much.

Still in it…

The studio is actually ready to go.
Everything is set…

And yet, I’m still moving through this creative shift.

I’ve been listening more closely: to my body, my mind, even the “procrastination.”
Asking gently: what’s actually stopping me?

I don’t always have the answers… but I am listening.

In the meantime, I’ve been pouring my energy into other spaces.
Time with my partner, slow days, and wandering through the magical Tasmanian wilderness during fungi season 🍄

Cool air.
Forest floors alive with tiny worlds.
Waterfalls, winding paths, and that deep, quiet stillness.

It’s been… rejuvenating in a way I didn’t expect.

Maybe this too is part of the process.
