Hey myth lovers!! It's been a while between drinks. Our UK friends Wright & Grainger are bringing their fringe favourite THE GODS THE GODS THE GODS to the underground room at Caxton Street Brewing Co. this Saturday. It just picked up Best Theatre & Critics Choice at Adelaide Fringe, and packed three shows at Sydney Opera House. It mixes original pop music and poetry with Greek Mythology, and the Aussie tour is produced by Tom Oliver Productions. If you loved Dionysus, you'll love this. On that, it's probably time for another Dionysus BNE soon? Covid kind of stopped it... See you Saturday night!!

A born showman and expert in both circus artistry and comedy, Mario Queen of the Circus comes brimming with unbridled passion. The Latin lothario’s hilarious full-length show and irresistible variety numbers have wooed audiences all over the world. Mario’s unique mix of complex juggling tricks and universal s*x appeal can only find release in the arena-rocking anthems of his favorite supergroup, Queen.

In a box is a box that needs to be opened to see the box!
Meet Mathias and Benny, two ordinary guys who live inside a box in the middle of a field somewhere. Their domestic world is a condensed comic cosmos. Featuring Andrew Cory and Leon Cain, two of Brisbane’s best clowns, their work uses a brilliant combination of clowning, dark comedy and satire to present a contemporary dystopian fairy tale.

Meet our next performer for Dionysus at Wynnum Fringe - Brisbane's own variety show: Melon The Human!

Melon the Human : far more skilled at circus than he appears and accompanied with dry, awkward wit. Specialising in object manipulation, Melon has left audiences around the world stunned with his juggling finesse of unique objects including the broom and cube.

Melon emerged in 2015 as a creation of Thomas Stewart, a Brisbane born secondary teacher who became a street performer. Since then, he’s taken his odd performance styles to both streets and stage all around the world.

Introducing our next performer for Dionysus at Wynnum Fringe - Brisbane's own variety show: Maddi Römcke!

Maddi Römcke is a Brisbane based multidisciplinary artist. Her work includes critically acclaimed 'Deal or Ordeal' (2016), 'DUMB, FAT [SLUT]' (2018), and she is currently developing her new play 'Biting Tongues' through Belloo Creative's mentorship program. She was a Queensland finalist at the 2016 Australian Poetry slam and regularly performs her performance poetry at RUCKUS SLAM. She is excited to be bringing fresh material to Dionysus this weekend!

Meet our next Dionysus performer: Chanel Lucas!

Warm, pure vocals and gentle folk guitar are Chanel’s signature sound. Her music allows you to stop and take a breath, and enjoy the moments outside of the busy day-to-day. She has travelled across the world to the USA, Europe and China with Brisbane folk-pop act ‘women in docs.’ And her music has been in the Top 10 of the US Blues and Roots charts. Recently, she has been learning to play the ukulele and writing songs for her solo show.
