I've always been deeply impressed with the presentation of rock platforms on our gorgeous Illawarra coastline.

The video I’ve posted will present as a diptych…(2 carvings as one) with the completed physical size being 2 metres in width & close to 1 metre in height.

This carving will eventually be a representative image of three (3) very special locations close to my home. The collective will represent images I've come across at Wombarra, Bellambi point and the Belmore basin at Wollongong.

Looking forward to an update in hopefully not too many months down the track.

The Illawarra Festival of Wood, 6-7 October, a huge success and a massive plus for the Illawarra region. Many thanks to the scores of people that I connected with and were happy to spend time chatting and checking out the talent of craftsmen and women, artists, and associated businesses. My photos include my grandson, Logan, son to my daughter Jennifer and son in law Darren....I've got him lined up with a mallet and a set of carving chisels already...and he just loves spending time in my workshop! Other photos include my wife Sue with Leon Sadubin, a legend in the timber industry as a designer and sculptor in Wood. The gentleman towering over me in Stan Ceglinski,,noted for his 30 plus years salvaging and milling trees but known to most people for his innate ability to entertain and educate people at Wood Expos country wide. A top day for one and all

Greetings family and friends,

Many of you will recall WIN News Illawarra paying me a visit back in April 2015 (link below if you missed it). Since then I've been a very busy man and recently I received some fantastic news...

In April this year I've been invited to exhibit my body of work 'A Celebration of Winged Diversity' at Wollongong Art Gallery. Super excited!!!

The exhibition is focused on Australian birds in their natural environment and comprises 13 deep relief woodcarvings of varying size. The collective works represents in excess of 10 years work with an individual carving taking an average of 600 hours from concept to completion.

This is a very exciting time for me so I'll be posting plenty of updates in the coming weeks. If you're on Instagram and would like to see some photos of my work, pop over and follow my page 'Heirloom Woodcarving'.

Totally humbled... Thank you in advance for your support, I look forward to seeing you all in the near future :)
