I have watched this young man grow up, train so hard and overcome some challenges which would have stopped many people following their dreams. But he just keeps going and I truely wish him all success. Follow him and help support his dream.

This awesome crew are starting the build of the new circus workshop venue ‘Chelsea’ for Woodford Folk Festival. It’s been a wild ride but with out great people nothing is possible. Thank you team! Can’t wait to fill it with the amazing 2023/24 program!

When I was a young girl growing up in Woodridge, the limited opportunities available to girls at the time (especially Aboriginal girls) meant that breaking down barriers was always going to be part of our journey.

I often think of what my younger self would make of where I am today. I’m sure she could never have imagined the kinds of barriers that have been overcome since this photo was taken.

Today is International Day of the Girl, a day dedicated to focusing attention on the need to address challenges girls face, whilst also promoting girls’ empowerment and the fulfilling of their human rights.

My hope is that with a YES vote at this weekend’s referendum, many more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls get the chance to exercise their individual and collective empowerment.
