On my time off from the shop this weekend I get to divulge in my book i started reading quite some time ago. I found the title of this book curious. The concept is something I hear quite commonly in my day to day owning a bookshop and that this book in these current times in life are still relevant today.

“Books are expensive…..” Orwell had something to say about that. In Books v. Ci******es, he asks us to compare the cost of reading with the countless small expenses we accept without question. Decades on, the maths still stacks up: few purchases offer as much value, pleasure, knowledge, and longevity as a good book. 📚
