🚀 ROAD TO KICKSTARTER !!

As we march, stumble, and occasionally cartwheel our way towards our Kickstarter launch later this year, we thought it only right to make things a little more interesting.

Over the coming months, we’ll be rolling out a series of Pyramid Rush quests - small missions, challenges, daft acts of loyalty, and occasional displays of unusually fine judgement - for our early supporters, future backers, and all good friends of the Rush.

Some quests will be easy. Some will be gloriously silly. Some may require boldness, charm, or the ability to persuade one’s nearest and dearest that a game of chaos, cunning, and Egyptian absurdity is exactly what their lives have been missing.

The idea is simple:
the more quests you complete, the more you become part of the story as we build towards launch.

The Thug is a fan favourite, and we actually put a lot of thought into the guy. We're not sure where it went (he still only communicates with grunts and stares) but even if the thought didn't stay in his brain, we're still pretty happy about how he shaped up. Here is another former version, but our sister doesn't like that he dribbles from his nose.

The Rock Block has gone through a bit of an evolution, too. The main thing was to make it more artsy, and to put our feathery friend on top of it. "Because it rhymes with 'block'" was Daniel's argument. And because we have the humour of 5-year-olds, it stuck.

Our Pharaoh always had swag, but he wasn't fully swag enough. This was him before we gave him a stereo and made him a little less competent looking. Also dude, what's with the boots? Still we, really like this image of him, so we kept it. Anyone know where we put him?

Our website is being revamped! We were pretty happy with it. As we're slowly tiptoeing our way towards the Kickstarter campaign, we are working on building something that will withstand even the strictest scrutiny, so that it looks less like Sphinx's Nose and more like a real Rock Block. If you have a moment, go and check it out!

An unsere Mitbürgerinnen und Mitbürger in Deutschland: vergesst nicht, dass ihr die deutschen Regeln auch online findet. Wir glauben zwar, dass Pyramid Rush auf Deutsch noch viel mehr Spaß macht, aber hier glaubt uns das irgendwie keiner. Komisch.

How do you test your game when you're young and broke and just starting out? This is how: You slap your images in a Word Document with the most Ancient-Egypt-y font you can find, spend an hour cutting out all the cards... and then your brother wins because he can see through the paper!

The Thug Evolution
We love our Thugs. They are the brawn to our brain, the highly trained wielders of wooden implements that we have come to rely on to give us the edge in the competitive Pyramid building business. But, did you know that the Thug has evolved? Hard to imagine, given his vacant stare, but true enough. This is how this human weapon started out. Just goes to show that anyone can grow and progress into a better version of themselves!

When Daniel first drew up the idea of the Sphinx's Nose, this was what he came up with. After some discussion with his beloved brother, it was decided that before sending it to our graphics designer, we should probably pop a label on it. To prevent any misunderstandings. Just in case.

Everybody loves a Toilet Papyrus, especially now that we've introduced the new Dumpster Diving rule. But the toilet papyrus you know and love used to come without a palm tree or a shovel - very unfortunate in the Ancient Egyptian heat. Here's how the card used to look and how it looks now. What do you think? Did we make the right choice?
