EXEK - live in PK - SUN 28th JUNE
w/ Expensive Music Band + Solo Career

Wildly excited to have the incredible EXEK (DFA Records / VIC ) playing here at the servo!

For just over a decade, EXEK has very quietly become one of the most hypnotic bands on the planet, mutating and growing from record to record, gradually opening themselves up without ever losing that strange, inscrutable, altogether essential quality that’s made them so great—so EXEK-y.

In Feb this year, the Melbourne post-punk outfit released ā€˜Prove The Mountains Move’, their seventh album and first release for legendary New York dance/punk/indie label DFA Records (home to LCD Soundsystem The Rapture Juan MacLean ).

It is, ā€œa bit more ā€˜epicā€™ā€ than anything EXEK have recorded to date, a lush and unabashedly melodic set of surrealist pop that luxuriates in contradiction. ā€œThis record is experimental in its craft,ā€ the band says, ā€œbut it may not necessarily sound experimental.ā€

Joined here in PK for a delightful Sunday afternoon affair by two of our favourite leisure coast left-field leisure rock, weirdo pop purveyors Expemsive Music Band and Solo Career.

WE ā¤ļø (and )
Just wanted to take a moment to share an incredible venue and crew on the coast just south of us here in PK that are doing amazing things building community, supporting and creating space for artists and creativity to flourish and thrive and running an epic space full of the best vibes!

Easily one of our favourite spots on the coast or in the whole country is Fillmore’s just down in Kiama, run by an absolute legend with the biggest heart and so much love - Morgan, alongside an awesome crew!

Fillmore’s is everything you could ask for in a community space and so beautifully and thoughtfully curated and operated and it reflects Morgan so well. Last month while I was massively under the pump here in PK and drowning in stress with delayed projects, crazy schedules and events, Morgan selflessly and so generously in his own time just rolled up here and jumped into the venue and helped out with anything and everything, lending supporting putting other stages and production, helping with events and anything else in between - all whilst running his own two amazing venues!
Wanted to send a massive thank you to Morgan for the help and friendship and incredible support from his own small business to help another struggling small business.

We can’t recommend enough jumping in the car or on the train and zipping down to Kiama for a stop at and enjoying the epic space and supporting this amazing venue and crew.

Another way you can back them right now, is to voice your supprot for their DA submission with Kiama council today or tomorrow before public submissions close, they’ve been battling endless red tape for ages now just to allow them to support the music community and showcase live gigs in the space and they need the public support behind them so if you have a minute, hit the link in our IG stories or hit their page and send a submission to council to back them!

Big love and long live Finding Fillmore’s!!

TL:DR visit and support them - it’s the best!

We love Finding Fillmore's āœØā¤ļø

DA 10.2025.181.1

38-40 Manning St Kiama

We have 1 week to get behind this so please jump on it & spread the word

We are so sorry to ask, but we need two minutes of your time to make a submission and have your voice heard. Its as simple as saying whether or not you support the application to secure Fillmore's future in Kiama.

Last time we had nearly 206 submissions with over 95% in support of our proposal from you beautiful people (and we have read every one, thank you šŸ’š). Somehow this was not enough with the DA proposal considered ā€œnot in the community's interestā€.

So, we need to speak up even louder & really let the council know that this is the future of Kiama that we desire. The town centre needs vibrancy and it all starts here. Share this around please & lets get this through once & for all.

Please also email your elected representatives (Councillors) and let them know too because it may come down to their vote. We really need to resolve this at a local level or the next step is Land & Environment Court which will cost nearly half a million to our business & the rate payers. This would be a cost neither of us can afford & money we certainly do not need to waste when this is clearly in the community's interest.

We have worked tirelessly for nearly 2 years on the application with nearly a dozen consultants continually updating & altering the application in hope to satisfy. We believe it is now more than reasonable given it is in the historic centre of business of Kiama and not zoned residential.

Thank you to all of you for your ongoing support, it means the world to us & gives us the strength to keep dusting ourselves off & continue pushing for a bright future for Kiama, not just a town filled with apartments with no where to enjoy time being together building community šŸ’š
