Our fifteenth Artist .shirtboy

I am a photographer chasing nostalgia. I don’t want to see the photo straight away. It tastes better when it sits on the stove for a bit before it gets consumed.
It forces me to be outside, to be present.

A tiny slice I get to share. A peek into who and what drives me.

Our Fourteenth Artist .tattoo

My work explores the intersection of art, science, and the natural world. As a tattoo artist, I’m drawn to the permanence and intimacy of detailed qualities that I carry into my ballpoint pen drawings.

Using a simple everyday tool, I hope to recreate and reinterpret scientific illustrations, focusing on the precision, structure, and quiet beauty found in animals and organic forms.

Animals have always been central to my practice, serving as both subject and inspiration. Through careful line work and layered textures, I aim to highlight the complexity and fragility of living systems, while also inviting a closer, more contemplative way of seeing.

These works sit somewhere between documentation and expression, rooted in observation, but shaped by a personal connection to both art and the natural world.

Our thirteenth Artist .photo

T W Baker (b. 1990) is an emerging photographer based on the Coal Coast of NSW, Australia.

His humanist approach blurs the line between documentary and fine art photography, shooting exclusively on 35mm and medium format film and printing in his Austinmer darkroom.

In 2025, Baker was a finalist in the National Photographic Portrait Prize, the Olive Cotton Award and the Martin Kantor Prize.

His work has been acquired by Wollongong Art Gallery and exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery and the Ballarat International Foto Biennale.

Nick wants to collect moments, documenting the various spaces he finds himself in to create scenes that feel like dreams or memories.

He shoots both natural landscapes and manufactured spaces.

Our eleventh artist

i’m a tattooer of 5 years operating off crown street. I
never went to an art school and I have never won an award for tattooing lol.

From time to time outside of tattooing, i like to draw and paint with whatever materials i happen to have on hand with no plan and no rules to adhere too.

In the words of Stoney St. Clair

“I’m not trying to re-invent the wheel, i’m just here to keep it turning””

Our Tenth Artist .art

William O’Toole is a contemporary painter living and working on Dharawal land. Working primarily in oils on non-traditional materials, O’Toole appropriates images from film stills, commercial listings and digital archives, cropping and removing them from their original contexts before their reproduction on densely textured surfaces.

Using supports such as doormats and synthetic turf to mimic the grain of analog film or the pixelation of poorly scanned images, these bootlegs of the original images aim to analyse the fetishisation of resolution, speed and degradation within contemporary image circulation.

Our Ninth Artist

Each canvas is an evolving conversation-built up, stripped back, and reshaped-reflecting both the physicality of painting and the fleeting nature of perception.

Having studied at West Wollongong TAFE and Sydney College of the Arts, my practice has developed over decades of exploration, with influences ranging from traditional fine art techniques to contemporary experimental approaches.

I am influenced by the interplay of control and chance, allowing my materials to guide the outcome while maintaining a deep engagement with composition and gesture. My aim is to create works that invite contemplation, offering viewers a space to find their own narratives within the layers of colour and gesture.

Exhibiting nationally, I have had the privilege of showcasing my work in solo and group exhibitions, as well as being a two-time finalist in the Sulman prize which has further reinforced my commitment to pushing the boundaries of my practice.
