You might have seen news in The Border Mail suggesting Albury and Wodonga Carols could merge.

Wodonga Brass has proudly coordinated Wodonga Carols by Candlelight for 50 years, and we hope to coordinate it for 50 more.

Wodonga Carols means a lot to our Wodonga community and to Wodonga Brass, and we will not simply give it away.

Wodonga’s Carols by Candlelight is unique, because we are one of the only Christmas carols events wholly coordinated by volunteers, with the generous support of community sponsors. We are also one of the last carols events to use real wax flame candles.

Willow Park is also a beautiful, natural amphitheater setting for Carols, paired with the award-winning Wodonga Brass band and Wodonga Carols Choir, you cannot find a traditional carols event like this in Victoria.

Wodonga Carols also does incredibly important work for our community, with over the past two years, Albury Wodonga Health raising close to $30,000 through the sale of candles and raffles at Wodonga Carols.

This December we are holding our 51st Wodonga Carols by Candlelight. We look forward to partnering with Wodonga Council and Albury Wodonga Health again in 2026 to put on a spectacular night families will remember and look forward to all year.

No one has reached out to Wodonga Carols or Wodonga Brass about partnering with Albury. Being a community led event and a more traditional carols than Albury, the two events wouldn't gel well together – they are fundamentally different carols events.
