Winton’s Outback Festival is five days of quintessential Australian fun in the heart of Queensland’s Outback. Famous for the Quilton Australian Dunny Derby, this hilarious event involves teams of five pulling and pushing the thunderbox (dunny) through an obstacle course, all competing for over AUD 5,000 in prizes. Winton is the birthplace of Qantas and is the location of the first public recital of Waltzing Matilda by Banjo Paterson at the North Gregory Hotel.
