Dark to Bright Class

BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL.

Date: Saturday 5th September
Time: 5:30pm to late. (BYO dinner).

Venue: 4 McLaws Crt, Winslow Victoria (Follow the driveway along the fence line towards the building behind the house).

What's in the class: Students can either create in their Art Journal or on Watercolour paper. We will be starting on a black background, using both Cool and Warm colours to create a both Dark and Bright layout. The dark background makes the colours pop.

We will be using stencils, stamps, alcohol inks, acrylic paints, ephemera leaves, Acetate sheets, Yupo paper and some googly eyes (eyes are optional).

What to Bring: (if you don't have the items below, we will happily share ours).
-Paint brushes
-Art Journal A4 (we can supply watercolour paper if you do not have a journal).
-Art Smock or old clothes
-3D mounting foam (optional)
-Wedge tool, Contour Tool or large Palette Knife to help cover large area's.
-Posca pen - Gold.


Supplied for class use - These will be available for use in class, or you can bring your own.
-Gesso in black and white
-Alcohol ink
-Acrylic Paint
-Liner Paints / Relief Paint
-Heat Tool
-Stencils
-Owl Stamps
-Ink Pads - Stazon Black
-Ephemera Leaves
-Acetate sheet
-Yupo Paper
-Googly eyes
Tea, Coffee and Water are provided.

BYO Food & cutlery, we have a fridge and microwave (yes, it's ok to bring your dinner), we are open from 12am to late for come and create sessions :)

Below are student designs from yesterday's Challenge Art Journal Class. Each student pulled 4-5 prompts, and the rules were to create an art journal layout using each prompt along with a cut-out page of figures. One student made die-cuts from the figures, very clever. The students all nailed this class! So much fun!

A little inspiration. Just in case you missed it in last week's newsletter.

Oh So Lovely Scrapbook Layout.

I created the below scrapbooking layout using 2 of the Papers from the Oh So Lovely Collection. Yes, that's correct; this is a 2-page wonder. No ephemera, just 2 sheets of paper and some foam tape. Nothing else except glue and photos, along with some fussy cutting.
