Working intuitively with the environment, Mar Serinyà Gou transforms natural materials into tools for storytelling and connection. Rocks become surfaces for drawing and sculptural forms, burnt trees become charcoal-like instruments, and repetitive gestures evolve into rhythmic sound works. Across Gou’s works, the landscape is treated as an active collaborator, revealing hidden worlds, mapping constellations, and tracing the vibrations between human presence and the natural environment.

View Mar Serinyà Gou's work in our current exhibition Entangled Grounds. Now showing until Sunday 23 August.

We are excited to announce a new chapter for our annual exhibition and art fair, Hawkesubry Now 🌟

Hawkesbury Now is a program dedicated to showcasing contemporary art from artists living in the Hawkesbury Local Government Area (LGA). Historically, the program has been developed closely with local art societies and creative groups across North-West Sydney.

From Monday 15 June, the program will open via an Expression of Interest (EOI) process. All artists living within the Hawkesbury LGA, including both members of local art societies and independent artists with a strong connection to the region, are invited to apply. This process replaces the previous model and ensures all artists are assessed through the same open and transparent EOI application process.

This exciting change follows valuable feedback from exhibiting groups and independent artists, alongside a review of the program aligned with the Hawkesbury City Council Cultural Plan.

Applications open on Monday 15 June 2026 and close after six weeks on Sunday 2 August 2026. For more information, including eligibility criteria, please visit the gallery website: https://www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au/gallery/events-and-programs/hawkesbury-now
