Unfortunately it has only just been bought to our attention that one of our prawn suppliers has had an issue with logistics and sent us by mistake
COOKED SOFT & BROKEN SECONDS catch dated between April & June of 2024‼️
Although the prawns are still fine to eat and won’t harm you they do not meet our high quality standards as we only accept prawns with a certain date criteria.
We would like anyone who has purchased a 5kg Only Box Of Cooked Soft & Broken Seconds either In Store or had them delivered on one of our delivery runs between Wednesday the 10th and Tuesday the 16th December to please check your box if it is still in your freezer and if it has a production date on it between
01/04/24 and 30/06/24 or your not sure please bring it in store for us to replace with New Season Stock Caught Nov 2025.
If you’re out of town or can’t get in store before Xmas please phone our friendly team on 86332355 to make alternate arrangements.
The absolute last thing we want is for one of our valued customers to open their box of prawns on Xmas Day and be disappointed as we are.

Whyalla City Council has received a briefing from GFG Alliance regarding the various concerns being raised in the media and local community, including the latest announcement of a short hot idle of the blast furnace due to an interruption in coking coal supply.

Mayor Phill Stone said GFG had assured council that this latest interim measure would enable steelmaking to continue with minimal disruption; and that they're taking every precaution heading into the hot idle to ensure there isn't a repeat of the recent blast furnace interruption.

“We feel for the people being impacted by the recent events, particularly those who have lost their jobs and any suppliers awaiting payment, as this has impacts right across the community," Mayor Stone said.

"GFG has stated that it’s working with smaller local businesses in particular to minimise ongoing impacts while it deals with all these issues, which include the market downturn and the pressure of cheap imports. This is expected to take some time, so we encourage understanding while GFG works through this challenging situation. We also encourage anyone with concerns regarding payments to contact GFG direct to discuss options.

“This has been an unfortunate series of events, but we remain confident they’ll get things back on track, with GFG emphasising to us their commitment to a long-term future in Whyalla and continued support of the local community.”
