The first of Jonathan Harker’s postdated letters has been sent, and Jonathan grows desperate.

Determined to discover the secrets about the Count, Jonathan perilously climbs down the exterior of the castle wall into the Count’s bedroom.

Once inside the seemingly disused room, Jonathan takes a deep passage that opens into a ruined chapel.

Jonathan discovers that the Szgany had been filling large wooden boxes with earth from the chapel, and that the Count is lying as if dead inside one of these boxes.

+++ Announcing The Vlad Dracula Tarot Card Deck! +++

The Vlad Dracula Tarot is a 78-card tarot deck and booklet based on the life of Vlad the Impaler, the infamous mediaeval ruler of Romania who inspired Bram Stoker's legendary vampire.

The 78 original woodcuts of the deck depict scenes of cruelty and cunning masterfully drawn by Russian artist Nikita Vuimin from instructions provided by Travis McHenry, author of the Occult Tarot and Angel Tarot and one of the foremost occultists of the modern era.

Each image portrays an episode in Dracula's life and is perfectly paired with a tarot card that reveals its astrological and occult meaning. This combination of design and esoteric knowledge results in a historically accurate deck that can be used as a divination tool or simply cherished as a macabre work of art.

+++ On This Day, The 17th Of June 1462, Vlad Tepes Lead The Famous Night Attack On Mehmed's Camp outside Târgoviște. +++

The Night Attack at Târgoviște (Romanian: Atacul de noapte de la Târgoviște, Turkish: Tirgovişte Baskını) was a battle fought between forces of Vlad III, Prince of Wallachia, and Sultan Mehmed II of the Ottoman Empire on Thursday, June 17, 1462. The battle started after Mehmed, who already had tense relations with Vlad, discovered his alliance with Hungary's king Matthias Corvinus and ordered his forces to ambush him. Vlad foiled the attack and invaded Bulgaria. In response, Mehmed raised a great army with the objective to conquer Wallachia and annex it to his empire. The two leaders fought a series of skirmishes, the most notable one being the Night Attack where Vlad's much smaller force on horse back attacked the huge Turkish camp in the night in an attempt to kill Mehmed. They managed to fight their way to the heart of the sultans camp but fell just short of their objective.

The bold assassination attempt failed and Mehmed marched to the Wallachian capital of Târgoviște, where he found a few men with cannons. After leaving the capital, Mehmed discovered 23,844 impaled Turks whom Vlad had killed during his invasion of Bulgaria. The number is mentioned by Vlad himself in a letter to Matthias Corvinus. The sultan returned home and gave up the invasion.

It is depicted in the films 'Bram Stokers Dracula' & 'Dracula Untold'.

This action is why you find many statues celebrating Vlad Tepes in modern day Romania, as the country's saviour and founder of the capital Bucharest.

Next year's 'Bram Stoker's Dracula' will feature the actor in the lead role once again.

Two horror greats will live again next year, courtesy of Legendary Comics, with a new graphic novel adapting Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula with an unexpected twist — the lead role will be filled by iconic actor Bela Lugosi.

The comic book arm of Legendary Entertainment will publish Bram Stoker’s Dracula Starring Bela Lugosi in late 2020, in partnership with the Lugosi Estate and Kerry Gammill, publisher of Bela Lugosi’s Tales From the Grave. Featuring art from El Garing and art direction from Gammill, the book will return the actor — or at least, his likeness — to a role he first played on stage in the late 1920s.

“Bela Lugosi created his unique portrayal of Count Dracula on the Broadway stage and has become a cultural icon for his performance in the 1931 film,” Lynne Lugosi Sparks, granddaughter of the actor and CEO of Lugosi LLC, said in a statement. “This graphic novel beautifully answers the question: What would Lugosi’s performance look like in a direct interpretation of Bram Stoker’s novel? We believe Legendary Comics has proven what fans already know — Bela Lugosi is Dracula.”

“There have been great Dracula graphic novels, but to unite Bram Stoker’s novel in a faithful adaptation with the definitive Dracula in the form of screen icon Bela Lugosi is a dream come true,” Legendary Comics SVP Robert Napton added.
