What a night! A truly spectacular finish to our Week of Irish Culture 🇮🇪✨

Last night, the Canberra Irish Club was alive with the very best of Irish music, song, and dance for our Grand Finale Concert. We are still buzzing from the incredible talent on display!

A massive thank you to our phenomenal performers who took us on a journey through the heart of the tradition:
• Springtide: For those ethereal sounds of harp, dulcimer, and cello.
• Graeme Adler & Margaret O’Connor: Providing masterful fiddle and guitar.
• Set In Their Ways: Who brought the house down with their Irish Set Dancing.
• Chris Hood: For his wonderful songs and banjo playing.
• Seamus Gill & Kate Scott: Bringing us beautiful Irish Gaeilge song and fiddle tunes.
• Tir an Oir Dancers: What a display of skill and energy!
• Pure Drop Trad: For a high-octane banjo and fiddle finish.

The night didn't end there—it was wonderful to see musicians join in for a tunes session to close out the week!

What a way to spend the evening! Our workshops continued tonight with a session led by Andrew, focusing on everything that makes the mandolin shine in Irish music.

From mastering the right-hand rhythm to navigating the best chord shapes for Irish tunes, there was so much to take away.

Fiddles at the ready! 🎻☘️

Our workshop series continued this evening with a fantastic session focused on the fiddle. Kathryn did an amazing job guiding the group through some beautiful tunes and sharing the secrets of that authentic Irish sound.

There was a truly magical atmosphere at our harp workshop this evening! 🪉🎶

We were so lucky to have Greg lead us through the history and technique of this iconic Irish instrument. Well done to everyone who came along and had a go!

Success! We’ve had a brilliant time today at The Session Toolkit workshop. We’ve been busy expanding our tune lists and sharpening those session skills.

There’s nothing like the feeling of having a few "sure-fire" tunes ready to go when the music starts.
